I'm very curious how Godzilla will fit into the Perfect Model line, C-3PO had a lot of features that made him stand out from your typical figure but Godzilla doesn't give you a lot to work with, you can't sell a real metal feature, rubber skin would just make people worry about deterioration, what could they do to justify a cost like 3PO unless Godzilla ends up a lot cheaper, but from what we've seen he should cost same as an X-Plus 12".

Maybe he will be fully mechanized with celebration jumping action. :lol

I'm starting to get a bad feeling for this film. I didn't realize it was being pretty much sandwiched between Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X-Men. Ouch!

I don't know what WB/LP is trying to accomplish, but it's time to at least to let people know this film exists. I haven't seen diddily squat. Aside from that trailer, which didn't even show much.

One thing brought up at tohokingdom was, how much does WB care about Godzilla at this point, apparently they're money investment in the production was relatively minimal, their partnership with Legendary is dissolving, do they keep rights to the franchise or does Legendary have them and they go to Universal with Legendary. It could be WB has no reason to care about the movie's success so they're not pouring in the effort they should, and maybe Legendary can only do so much to get it out there.

That's part of my bad feeling. If it's the final product of their partnership, who really is pushing this film to be a blockbuster hit? Especially with WB pushing the Adam Sandler film that comes out a week later?

Unfortunately I think both of you are on the right track.

The word is out that the split was so ugly that WB wants Legendary products to fail.

Think about it, we already have full trailers for Cap, Malificent and a few other movies that are farther out than this movie.

After reading about all of this today, now I'm getting worried. I hope they don't deliver another Pacific Rim domestic. Let's hope the name recognition from around the world makes it a success if the studios fail it here.

Thought i’ll share found this digital sculpture on another forum its different.

like everything about it except for the hands. This useless/limp arm trend needs to be bucked real quick.

And it is indeed worrisome about the grave expectations for Godzilla, at least according to some sources. I had a hard enough time even believe this film would be a huge success even if it's so good that word of mouth keeps it alive weekend after weekend. But, the fandom isn't a very big one (though I honestly would have thought that about Lord of the Rings before those movies came out). I see opening weekend all the Godzilla and giant monster movie fans going to see this. After that, I just don't believe this film has the legs to stand up to some of its competition. Hope I'm wrong...

But it's also part of the reason why I'm keeping my optism very much on the cautious side.

I have no doubt this movie will be amazing, even of it's box office punch is weak, I'll walk away with a Godzilla movie I thoroughly enjoy and as much as l want sequels, not every Godzilla movie is great, I'll take a modern equivalent to Gojira with bad box office and be fine that the Son of Godzilla/Hedorah sequels never come to be, though I do feel like the Legendary-Edwards team could turn out numerous good movie just like the Legendary-Nolan team.

Movie sucks and box office dud = Fail
Movie sucks yet box office success = Win (at least we'll get one more)
Movie is great yet box office dud = Win (at least we have a great modern Godzilla movie, even if only one)
Movie is great and box office success = Big Win (we have a great Godzilla movie and there will be more)

Our odds really don't look so bad. :lol

:(

Legendary's Godzilla reboot will be sitting out the Super Bowl

And that's pretty damn sad if you ask me. They could have cut a 30 second trailer with some new footage and gave us a better glimpse of Godzilla and a real glimpse of the MUTO. And that's why I got a feeling that article from Forbes may be on target.

I'm not worried a bit! This movie is gonna rock b4llz and I can't wait!

Also, I haven't watched a Super Bowl in years and I only ever showed up for one for the Little Smokies and cheese dips. :D
