I just love that the trailer was so eerie and haunting. Maulfan your right. Pacific rim was a new and honored the Japanese monster era but damn was it cliche as hell and while the fights were awesome the story was just bad and the monsters weren't really anything phenomenal. With godzilla it has always been the fear he brought to people and that he could never be stopped. I'm curious to see how this movie handles godzilla along with the big insect like creatures.
Everything I'm seeing is positive right now. Let's hope we get a awesome godzilla flick.

I love the dark choral music as Godzilla is revealled. Finally seeing this trailer, I feel like Desplat was a solid choice for composer and a better fit than some I'd originally wanted.
That said, how could would the reveal in the trailer be if some moody take on the Godzilla theme had played.

I can't wait to see Atomic breathe in action, I hope we see it wipe out city with it
They're making Godzilla out to be a threat to the entire planet and I like that.

It's also good that he travels from place to place and not just attacking one city. I like that. The threat is on a global scale the trailer makes you wonder what it would be like if this actually happened.

It looks like he feeds off nuclear energy in this film to.

Watched this trailer like 6 times good stuff.

It's hard to imagine that this film will show such devistation, all the production shots that hit the net didn't really give a sense, so it's a hope, but at least if they do it, we know it'll be done well.
I know that's something new for the franchise, but I think you need it. One of the most powerful moments in Gojira is a little girl crying over the body of her dying mother as Emiko takes her away. I've never seen Elizabeth Olsen act, but if they pit her in such situations, could be a big opportunity for her to show her acting abilities and make a mark for herself.
