And Legolas with a beast of burden...

What a cute friend!

Got mine yesterday, as you all have noted, it is a fantastic set. I am so glad that the headsculpt that is pictured on the box and was displayed as being the prototype was changed. I never did like the prototype headsculpt and was surprised that people were complaing when they released the new production pics. From the start, I thought the new headsculpt looked more like Legolas then the prototype. As has been said though, the pics on this board and others cannot do this figure justice, the sculpt is spot on. His outfit looks great and to scale, I think his boots are especially nice. I dont have an issue with the scabbard, I think it was done to keep things in scale. If they would have made a scabbard that would handle the curve of the blade and the length of the knives it would have been to long. The only 2 issues I have are the bow, one of the knives and a coupe of arrows were bowed, but I think the hot water, cold water treatment will fix that. The second issue is, and I cant believe im saying this is that the headsculpt is so much better than Aragorns. When I first got Aragorn, I thought he was great, but now next to Legolas the flaws in the headsculpt are very evident. I may take the plunge and try painting it. Sorry so long but wanted to give my opinion, now whens Boromir getting here?

My wait list converted, then I cancelled it as well as Faramir and Boromir. Nice stuff, guys, and congrats to all who got them, but the PFs are already killing my budget. :(

I have to say looking at the images on the box and looking at the actual figure in hand, deffinately looks much better in hand, and it's weird but it almost doesn't even look like it's lighting or paint throwing off the product images, it just doesn't look as close to him, but what counts is that the figure in hand is phenominal, and in addition, I know a lot of focus is on the cloak as far as the exclusive version goes, but I love the hand a lot too, they sculpted it well, it holds a nice grip on the arrows without risking damage, a great addition.

Yeah, the figure in hand is truly a nice piece. I'm very happy with how he came out. The costume came out very nice and the detail on it matches how nice the sculpt is.

all sideshow figures do, you never see it as much in person. Check out your own figures

Really, I never noticed it on any of them. I'm going to check some out tonight. Good to hear that it's not a big deal though.

I don't have any 12" figs left, but I don't remember seeing it much on the ones I had. The only exception was George Washington, the seam was a fairly pronounced on that one.

I think the severity must vary from figure to figure.

Garh... I got my Legolas on Monday but I forgot my camera and won't get it until the weekend. So... I'm not opening until I have my camera!

(also got aragorn from ebay on the same day so they're gonna party).

I'm jealous of all of you who opened already!

I'm getting into dangerous territory now.... it was just star wars before...

OK, I'm going to contribute to an image thread for the first time on this board. In trying to take some decent pictures, I realized I have a LOT to learn about lighting and setting up a shot. :lol

So, these aren't the best photos, but I have to start somewhere!

BTW, the figure is great!

Got mine last week. He's still in the box......... in the closet along with Aragorn, Crumb, and the probe droids. My wife needs the Jedi mind trick done on her. "You don't want to throw out those Sideshow items".

Don't sell yourself short there, sir....this is a great shot!
It really helps illustrate how to put the gear on over the cloak when I get him...
(Love the "classic" rancor too)

i really dig this guy...the more i play around with him the more i definitely think he is the best 1/6th scale i've gotten from ss so far...

In my opinion, Legolas blows away the Aragorn figure in "out of the box" likeness. The chin is a bit large but not distracting at all.

Aragorn also looks really "darkly tanned" when posed next to Legolas.

I think Boromir will raise the bar and Faramir will again raise it even further.

Now I feel that I definitely need to repaint my Aragorn in order to get it to that higher level (headsculpt-wise).

I'm truly happy with this line so far. My only wish would be for a little quicker pace!

Aragorn is improved by having Legolas to pose with him... but you are right. The differences between the two are staggering!
