Pruette, you're really making me miss my old Rancor. I loved that toy! He was my wubbie. Took him everywhere.

it's odd that pic really took me back to my childhood... but not because of that particular toy, it reminded me of an old E.T. toy I used to have that I'd completely forgotten about

I just placed Legolas next to Aragorn and as mentioned before, he really does put Aragorn to shame (headsculpt-paint-apps-wise). The paint job on Legolas is well done. Eyebrows are realistically thin and eyes are painted perfectly. Aragorn, on the other hand appears deeply tanned, bushy eyebrowed and with sad puppy-dog eyes. The beard is haphazardly applied as well. Legolas has now forced me to prepare Aragorn for a repaint, without a doubt.

It truly feel that Boromir will raise the bar and Faramir will extended it even further. This line has great potential but I only wish it would move faster...

paint apps aside, I think aragorn looks pretty good but from a few feet away with a little shadowing on his face

I agree Aragorn is a good figure. When I look at him I don't go ah god that's this or that. I have Legolas by him and together they make a nice pair.

Yep totally agree... its a good/great sculpt as has been shown by repaints and even the minimal work that WG did. Hopefully Sideshow continues the stellar paint apps that we've been seing lately with their 1/6 SW and LOTR releases!

Watching the movies since he showed up, I've been thinking, I'm so glad he's sculpted and painted like battle mode, cuz other scenes they used like a soft blur film affect and really brightened the color in his eyes and it was a bit feminine so it's nice to have a manly Legolas.

You might wait and see if they release another one. I'm happy to have Aragorn, but I know you aren't as forgiving about figures as some of the rest of us And when they make another one I imagine it will have better paint apps than the first version.

I have mine on the shelf, naked and ready to paint. He looks fantastic in the photos and in hand... but mine arrived with some very bad scratches on the nose. So regardless of top notch paint apps, I have to repaint it.

Either way I am excited about it, should be a lot of fun. And it gives me an excuse to fix my Aragorn's eyes ( I really F-ed those up, IMO).

Needless to say, I will certainly post pics when he is finished.

I have to agree, Sideshow really did a great job with Legolas. He was a bit difficult for me to get posed how I wanted. But now that he's there I like him more and more each day!!!

Ditto. The more I look at him the more I like him. And the more I feel the need to send Aragorn to Josh or Les. Legolas just looks so much better than Aragorn and really highlights Aragorns bad paint apps.
