So back on topic.....Because of all of the great stuff said on this thread about this movie my husband and I picked this up today. I can't wait to be really SCARED. by a creepy little vampire girl

Very interesting movie. I liked it, but the most horrifying aspect:

was the "nude" scene of the 12 year old girl/boy. Thankfully, I read in an interview with the director that it was actually a doll used for filming AND it was supposed to show that the girl was actually a castrated boy...which they didnt really touch on in the movie but apparently is explained in the book.

Yep I had great fun pointing this FACT out to many of the people that called Twilight gay then came in here and said how great this movie was. Twilight had no gay lovers.

twilight actually wasnt bad. Only thing I really thought was stupid was the "sparkly vampire concept".

I couldn't agree more. I just ignore that part.

I give this movie kudos for a cool idea, but I just don't feel that it was presented well. Maybe it was because the English dubbing was HORRIFIC. I wish I could have seen it in its original language with English subtitles. But there were a lot of WTF scenes - like that 'nude' one for instance (in the spoiler above).

Anyway, worth watching, but not as amazing as others had led me to believe, but like I said it may have been the dubbing that ruined most of it for me

I watched it with subtitles. I thought their spoken language sounded really cool.

I don't know if the original language will help. I pretty much had the same reaction to the film as you and I saw it in the theatre. I thought it was decent but not as special as people were leading me to believe.

I never watch foreign language movies dubbed,
I prefer reading subtitles...
