I don’t think I’ve ever seen a figure get released, where chrisstbh doesn’t have a complaint about it.
You should visit more threads then.

But if you think this looks good or natural then more power to you. But to me it’s off looking.

I still think the hair is the weakest part of the figure and holds it back, especially when you see it from a lower angle. That fringe is just odd looking to me. P

That’s been my only real gripe with pretty much every Lim figure, the hair never looks great. Same with Arthur and John figures.
i'm abit OCD when it comes to belt length. I felt the belt excess is abit too short. anybody agrees?

Really nice quality set.

A few quick snaps while trying out a pose:

The mast almost plugged on out of the box, but after a few seconds in boiling water it, along with the nameplate, attached super easily. The right arm was also simple to change.

The paintwork and sculpting for the heads, body and arms is obviously top class, but the artefacts also stand out - particularly the dagger and cross which have the effect of being fine cast bronze.

There's a lack of gripping left hands so he can't hold the sword along with his rifle or pistol, but the pinching coin holding hand is perfect for adding to the pirate treasure theme.

I thought I was nitpicky, but y’all are something else.

I think hair is hard to translate to a solid object no matter how you sculpt it. That’s why rooted hair is so popular nowadays, though that comes with its own set of problems. I think Lim did fine, if you look at Elevens sculpt its done fairly similar as well.

This was an idea I had planned for a while, but abandoned right after I took the photos:

No more pirate visions or ghosts, but something more contemporary instead. The only version of Lara I have that isn't winter clad, and she's not that great...

Nate needs a better quality companion.

Maybe a Lim Lara?

I don't really think it's nitpicking to critique a major element of the sculpt.

I think the rest of the figure looks great so when there's one weak element it really stands out. That's the problem for me.

Agreed. Especially Nate has a strange hairstyle. Idk how it could be translated into plastic in a different fashion.

Seamless looks good, but I know when I pre-order any seamless figure that my options for posing will be limited due to my paranoia that the elbows or shoulders will split.

I don't mind exposed joints because they are essentially action figures rather than statues. Hot Toys isn't giving you a choice now so if you want certain characters you'll have to suffer the limitations or the consequences.

I currently have on pre-order Ahsoka the White, Padawan Ahsoka, X-23, Rain Carradine, Jinx and Vi. Some, if not all of them, have both seamless shoulders and elbows.

This is about as much as I'd dare pose them...

They become action figures in name only, or semi-articlated statues.

At least One Toys' Jinx has a regular body with exposed joints.

Meanwhile, my Nate is out for delivery today. :)
I'm so excited for Jinx & Vi, but am similarly preparing myself to never pose them. 😬

As much as I love the characters, when I pull something out of the cabinet to pose, it's going to be somebody like Arthur Morgan, or Nate Drake, MTT's Lara, or my Ekuaz Squid Game guard. They're just less worry in terms of wear & tear. The Arcane ladies will be posed pure vanilla.

Received my 1 of 2 (I know, I'd kick myself if I didn't order another) but to echo others. An incredible piece, and has definitely made its way to one of the grails in the collection.

I agree. Lim Toys definitely needs to make a Lara Croft next. In the interim, I’ll display Nate with the Hot Toys old man Indy (once he is released).

Such a killer figure! Mines due this week, is the sword diecast I'm pretty sure Breda said it was plastic but Justin metal.

Also a strange one but I feel the expression teeth should of been the battle damage look would make more sense? Still this figure is incredible and a true work of art.
