Just to bring up another point...

If anyone here read the original Dark Horse Aliens vs. Predator comics, you can see that the 2 "engines" on the sides of that ship are actually ships themselves. Although, the comic version had 4 of them, rather than the 2 that are shown in the film and the model.

The scout ship from p1 was awesome even thought it was only on screen for about 5 seconds.

Yeh I love that scene from avp, but the part where the pods get fired out makes it.
