Although I think you could Love the Illusive concepts version... he was squishy on the inside :lol

LOL. Where is that blow up doll Jabba pic I posted several months back.

But believe it baby, I love my Jabba in a way no one else can.................:monkey5

I'm not getting sick of mine at all... I am looking forward to getting some more pieces to add to the display.

Maybe that's why I'm loosing interest in it.Because I don't have the rest of the pieces that should go with it (Han in carbonite,Jabba's band, ect.)

I love Jabba. The figure is fantastic. I like the throne, but the price was a rip off, and it should have been produced at a more resonable price. What I dislike some how , is the "set up" idea that is more or less forced upon us: Leia Boushh, Bib Fortuna, Bodo, Sarlacious... . Some people are even bagging SSC for a Skiff Guard Lando* and a Han in carbonite* to make their Jabba set up complete. There's nothing wrong with posing figures together, but the Jabba set up seams so ... limited. Yes it is true nobody orders you to display all these figures as one big scene, but I bet most of the collectors that own some pieces of Jabba & his entourage, have done so, because it would seem the thing to do.
I know, a lot collectors always talk about how they are going to pose this figure with that figure to re-enact that scene from that movie'... . That's cool, but just not my thing. If I want to review a certain scene from a movie, I just watch the movie, full stop!
I guess, my real interest in statues and 12" figures lies more in their design, and what they represent in 'their universe'. I just like to look at them a lot. For the 12" figures, it's a surplus value that you can make them "interact" with other figures, but it's certainly not my focal point. Although I admit that I've seen some very striking sets in the past.

*Bespin Lando rules!!! Hope we see him at SDCC '08 already!
*Hasbro's version of Han in carbonite is nearly perfect. Well... some light effects would have been nice, but the thing itself is very detailed, and the price is top!

That's an excellent way for displaying the figures, standing in front of the boxes. I've never seen that before, but it look really cool

I'm definately on the opposite end of that. I love the fact that we basically secured an "instant" set up when Jabba and the gang were announced at SDCC. I truly wish that happened every year rather than having individuals with no one to "go" with. Still waiting for someone for ESB Han.

You can easily seperate Bib Fortuna from Jabba and accomplish your more individual figure focus, but its harder for someone into scenes to grab Admiral Akbar and Jabba and do something with it.

I thought it was pricey then too, but I do like having something really substantial like the throne made of polystone compared to something they may have been able to do in plastic.

ESB Luke can go with your Han, and I agree I wish Sideshow would announce more 'waves' of theme relating characters, they have in way, ANH Obi, Leia, etc...but nothing in the scale of Jabba and friends.

ROTJ Emperor and throne...:emperor SDCC to coincide with (finally) Vader.:D

and don't forget the Stormtroopers, Royal Guards too, now that would be a complete pkg (minus the freaky Imperial Dignitarys) :)!

I didnt have time to get tired of him. I only got to display mine for about 2 months and then we moved. For the last 5 or 6 months he has been boxed up:monkey2

How many of you are starting to loose interest in your Jabba display? I think I am.He just doesn't come off as very cool anymore.More like this discusting worm on a throne, which is what he is right? :lol I was thinking about selling him to free up some cash as well for the 1/4 Biker & Scout.

How do you "loose" interest?

Heh, you have my sympathy... Would you belive that about 99% of my collection is boxed up for years now? I haven't seen some items for over 10 yeas now I belive! Most I have never ever taken out of their boxes... No room to display. But, better to have them now, and not be able to display them, then having to buy them later... cf Weta felbeast, Weta Moria Orc Archer, Moria Orc Swordsman, Newborn Uruc Hai, Xmen VS #1 diorama excl., Grey Hulk PF, Attakus Vader, Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, ... I could go on... :D

bah.... and after a year you'll get bord of 1/4 BS... then you'll get bored of whatever else you sell the BS for.. and so on and so on!

If you lost interest you shouldn't be buying these things. :monkey1

That to me is a sad story. If you haven't seen things for 10 years then there is a good bet that you don't need it. Seems like a waste of time, energy, and money. Just my opinion of course.

That sure is a strong statement. I don't agree with you though because there are many different ways to enjoy things and collect. People change as well as tastes and opinions. You have to be willing to grow and move on brother.
