Loosing interest in my Jabba

Yep,those are definitley a carpenters tools.

Anzik Hayes setup is really kickass! And shows just how glorious a piece the SSC Jabba set is. The slug and his throne, becasue you just can't have one without the other, have tempted me for a long time. Still I just can't see it being the pinacle of my collection, and obviously something this large can't be anything but. Still, all the details and the extras and diorama possibilities really do pull at me, but I digress. In the end I think I'd rather have more Clones.

That's what I was thinking as well.I'm more of a stormtrooper/clone guy myself.Lately I was thinking to focus mainly on the them,but will go ahead and keep Jabba since I already have him in my collection,and he's still a great piece.

I still enjoy my Jabba setup, and after seeing what you guys have done with yours, I plan on "upgrading" mine as well. The steps, etc.

MaulFan, thank you for that Leia upgrade! That's a much needed improvement! If one can't get the Koto figure, that is the way to go! Heading to Triad!

Now, if I could just get a Gammorean...and not think about the time I was in KB when they were on sale for $12- and got the evil eye from the ex as I reached for one...

If you can't get the Koto then raising your Jabba slightly and putting the awesome GG statue on the throne is the way to go.

The best thing about the GG Giant setup is the band. Were they in 1/6 scale I'd have to get them. Too bad. I really want the Rebo band in 1/6 format.

Well, you got one thing right in your misinterpretation: I really don't need those items. And frankly, I belive no one really does. Collectibles are a nice diversion, but nobody REALLY needs them. I've heard it plenty of times here on the board: luxury goods, right?
I'm just a patient guy! I will enjoy my collection twice as much the day I have the chance to display it the way I really want it. Nice cabinets, proper lightning... wonderful! Behind glass, so no one can touch them, and 'accidently' break them! Imagine the joy I'll have when I'm unpacking all these brand new, never exposed items! That smell of polystone and vinyl! The distress when I try to assemble all my Predators and Aliens with my shacking, fumbling hands! That will be a great day!
Don't be so serious about these things. After all they are just toys!

Cool!!! I just wish more people would realize just how good that Hasbro 'Carbonite Han' is, and stop asking SSC to make one. Not that I think Hasbro figures are particularly good, but this Han in cabonite is really good! Buy it! There must be thousands of them out there!

This is an ironic topic ... I felt the same way, but only about the throne itself. It was big, bulky and didn't match the movie prop very well (too tall and not wide enough). That, compounded with the fact that it was pretty much covered up when displayed (the figures in front of it obscured most of it). Then, I got offered the entire GG Jabba statue setup for 250 dollars (Jabba and his band) so I sold the throne for 220 and I have to say ... okay, I am sure this will be blasphemy to many ... while I will never sale SSC Jabba figure, Sal, and pals, the Gentle Giant pieces make a better diorama. Can't wait for Leia to perfect it.

I'm with you in that the Hasbro Han is a great looking piece and for any price totally worth it and doesn't look cheap with Sideshow materials.

However, I can think of areas where it can be improved upon and I'm sure a Sideshow version would be a bit more wonderful. This isn't too much else to do as far as the look of it for SSC to improve on, but there are thinks like working LEDs and such that they could do that would take it beyond just a plastic slab.

Perhaps the SSC version can come with a stand for the slab to be laid horizontally and be escorted by the soon to be released Stormtroopers and RAH Boba Fett.
