That sure is a strong statement. I don't agree with you though because there are many different ways to enjoy things and collect. People change as well as tastes and opinions. You have to be willing to grow and move on brother.

Wise words from an otherwise unwise man... Well said Rory! Well said.

Unfortunately I am kinda losing interest in mine too - but I know that if I was to sell him, Id regret it alter - I think it is just the fact that I dont have a good place to get him fully setup with all of the the other characters and accessories. I think if I had the room to get him set up properly I would not be so bored with him.

The one thing I do wish though, was that I waited to buy him and the throne later and saved loads of cash because of how cheap you can find them for now. Oh well.........that can happen in any instance, you just never know.

How do you "loose" interest?

Don't get me wrong,he is cool.I just want to go in a different direction with my collection if SS is done making the add-ons for it.If they do still make them then I might hold on to Jabba a little longer and see.

I think he was making fun of your spelling. It should read "Losing interest in my Jabba."

You know, I have never sold anything, not even a one-of-a-kind custom, and regretted it. I find I really enjoy my collectibles, but I am passed being attached to them.
As to Jabba, I still love mine, but I can see getting fatigued with some collectibles. Jabba especially, there's very little you can do to alter his appearance via posing to make him fresh. I recently moved my furniture around and it made him a whole new figure. But if you're sick of him, get rid of him! You can always buy it back if you want to, but I'm willing to bet you won't regret it.

I still dig the slimey piece of worm ridden filth, especially with all the critters and Medi Boba posed on the throne with him.

The power of the mighty Jabba, to this day I still love the whole setup. In fact I was just taking in his glory the other night as he was due for a cleaning, way due, he looked almost totally different once all the dust was gone :lol.

This is mine at present, same place it's been since I got him, though more and more items get added to the display as they're made.

Still love him.:D And compared to the prices they're charging for single figures these days, Jabba and the throne actually seem like a good deal.

ok... You are right. I've thought about it and collections due take a winding road sometimes. I guess my point was more of how expensive these things are. I wasn't tring to be rude.

So the sollution is, SS needs to come out with more of Jabbas goons!!!!!

I was gonna point this out. But you beat me to it.

I guess that makes me the "looser".

:lol

I never bought this piece. I almost did a few times. But, in the end I decided to stich with p.f. for my Star Wars collection and skip on the figures.

I stich to both.:monkey3:rotfl

How many of you are starting to loose interest in your Jabba display? I think I am.He just doesn't come off as very cool anymore.More like this discusting worm on a throne, which is what he is right? :lol I was thinking about selling him to free up some cash as well for the 1/4 Biker & Scout.

No way! I missed out on the initial order for the throne and then didn't have the money available for a while to pick it up on the secondary market. I just scored a throne a week or so ago on eBay for $150 and *love* it. My Jabba is on the way to me from Sideshow now and should be here tomorrow. I'm planning on putting together the whole setup (along with my Hasbro 12"ers) as soon as I finish the display case I'm about to build.

So cool! Where did you get those stairs to the sides of the throne?

Is that Slave Leia a custom piece? She looks fantastic. I just have the Hasbro one that came with Alky-Artoo, and she just doesn't quite do it.

Is that the Koto Slave Leia? I might have to pick one up after seeing that pic.

That to me is a sad story. If you haven't seen things for 10 years then there is a good bet that you don't need it. Seems like a waste of time, energy, and money. Just my opinion of course.
Well, you got one thing right in your misinterpretation: I really don't need those items. And frankly, I belive no one really does. Collectibles are a nice diversion, but nobody REALLY needs them. I've heard it plenty of times here on the board: luxury goods, right?
I'm just a patient guy! I will enjoy my collection twice as much the day I have the chance to display it the way I really want it. Nice cabinets, proper lightning... wonderful! Behind glass, so no one can touch them, and 'accidently' break them! Imagine the joy I'll have when I'm unpacking all these brand new, never exposed items! That smell of polystone and vinyl! The distress when I try to assemble all my Predators and Aliens with my shacking, fumbling hands! That will be a great day!:rotfl
Don't be so serious about these things. After all they are just toys!

Yes, it's the Koto Leia, although I removed the sculpted cloth and replaced it with the cloth from the FAO Schwartz-exclusive Slave Leia (the one that came with the bartender R2D2 -- it sounds like you may already have this one).

It's funny how whenever a Jabba-related thread pops up, everyone (including me) posts pictures of their setups. I think it just goes to show that a lot of people are proud of it, and think of it as the centerpiece of their collection.

im pretty bored with mine as well...............:monkey3

Here's the details:

Been awhile since I had done this, so I almost forgot about it. Here are some old images of my first ever custom figure. Sideshow's Jabba setup is fantastic, but for me, the big guy just isn't whole without Slave Leia, but the Hasbro figures just would not do. With guidance from CustomMikey, I constructed my own figure. I started with Hasbro's first release Slave Leia, I prefer it because her skirt is a velvety cloth instead of the thin material used for later versions. Next, I ordered this body through the Triad Toys website:

I then removed all of the clothing elements and the head from the Hasbro figure. I had to trim some rubber from the bikini bottom elements in order to have it fit to the new body, then I used a thread and needle to tie all of the pieces of the lower bikini together and in place, and using some rubber eraser material, I fattened the neck of the new body so that the Hasbro head would sit on it. I also had to remove the feet from the new body and just slid the calves into the Hasbro boots. My final step was to swap out the Hasbro neck chain with a necklace I had laying around home, the final result being this:

And finally, a minimalistic reproduction of the famous Luke and Leia Sail Barge swing image.

I think your right. I took great pride in setting mine up. Hell I even bought an interesting looking kitchen table to put mine on. LOL! I spent weeks finding just the right one and one day intend on buying a case that will fit it perfectly. I am the proud owner of a Jabba set and I think it's great! :rock
