Sounds like a female-focused take on the book's themes of lawlessness and human nature, showing a different side of the coin -- but if it's written by men, that justification probably won't have legs. They'll be under even closer scrutiny by feminists when they were probably expecting applause.

Just a risky mix of elements here. Socio-ideological demographics don't tend to like critique or evaluation from anyone other than their own -- and even then, they rarely do it themselves. From a publicity and monetary standpoint, this should've been written by someone else or not at all.

Agree with some of the points you make.
I have no problem with the themes of Lord of the Flies being explored in an all-female environment. I actually think it's quite intriguing.
However, this has to be made be women, otherwise it kinda defeats the purpose, IMHO.

These people do know that Ghostbusters was a huge failure right?

They dont care to lose millions and hundreds of millions, they dont care just as long as they push their agenda.

Watch, this movie will somehow find a way to blame men for everything.

"Very well, the female Lord of the Flies is a go. Let's move on to the next order of business, gentlemen: turning all men gay. Ideas from the table?"

The irony of course, is that the Left identifies as the Rebellion.

Almost everything from Hullywuud nowadays is just a mouth piece of progressives and SJW. Eventually, studios will not sign the checks anymore because at the end of the day, they're Capitalists no matter how Commie they sound.

How about we make an all female version of classic movies instead. An all female version of jaws seems to be a good choice. They can even give the shark a bow tie on its head so you know it's a girl and not a boy.

And it's killing more than helping. Just look at marvel comics. They are so ****ed. Instead of making new stories they want to literally bury the heroes that made them great.

These companies are being pushed to do this no matter how much money they lose. This isnt even about making money anymore. I bet soros is behind some of this stuff ...

You don't actually believe that, do you? It's not just propaganda, but it's also fiscally irresponsible.

The only reason they're do this -- hell, the only reason most businesses do anything -- is to make money. Either they think this is what audiences want (maybe this will even turn out to be compelling, who knows?) OR they're deliberately putting out a controversial remake to bait people into arguing about it over the internet, thus generating curiosity and buzz.

2016's Ghostbusters wasn't a complete failure. It wasn't a blockbuster by any means, but it wasn't the worst film of all time. Mediocre to lukewarm reviews and some success.

While movie studios are often tone deaf and lack self-awareness, they do it all because they think it'll sell tickets. Maybe it won't work. But they definitely want it to. Claiming they have some agenda that overrides the desire to profit is ridiculous. You might be able to make that claim about an indie producer, but a major studio? Please. They're still suits.

They lost so much money with ghostbusters, that the director is not allowed on sony property anymore.

They didnt make any profit, lost almost 100 mil.

Doesn't mean they did it deliberately. They wanted it to be a hit and thought this was the way to do it. The only claim you can make about Hollywood studios doubling down on this approach is that they've got bad business sense, not that they're willing to lose all their money in service of "pushing an agenda."

Don't ruin the echo chamber.

All roads eventually lead to a takeover by soros, BLM, Hollywood liberals, colleges, big government, the mainstream media, or antifa. They are the topics of irresisitable force for select handful.

:lol Oh, echo chambers were meant to be shaken. Surely if the right believes that, a leftie like me can say the same. Hell, I go to a liberal arts school and I feel like I'm one of the few moderate folks there. Everyone's on the lookout for some villainous conspiracy when they only have their inability to talk to each other without pitching strawmen to blame.
