i did the same thing for season 1 & 2 to catch up before watching season 3 week to week. man did time drag on once i caught up. i told the wife we needed to skip season 4 and just wait for the dvd but i couldnt do it...:lol.

:lol

Yeah there is just no way you can wait when you know there are new episodes waiting to be watched you just crack and watch them. :D

One of the worst things about not getting to go to SDCC this year will be missing the final LOST panel. That's been something that I've been able to catch every year, even when I can only go for the day.

If anybody is planning on catching it tomorrow, do me a favor and post a little summary for pathetic non-attendees like me.

:monkey2

I'm waking up bright and early to go to the FINAL LOST PANEL!!!

Rumour has it, it's going to be special.

It's already cool enough that they had a bunch of props and costumes on display from the show that have to be returned Monday, and a raffle to be flown to Burbank and have lunch with the 'Keeper of Secrets'. :rock

Sorry, Tom. But man, those props were awesome!!! The hatch, Locke's compass and knife, Hurley's lottery ticket, Charlie's guitar and ring, etc. I even saw one creepy guy sniffing Kate's Dharma jumpsuit. :lol

OKAY! Whew, busy day.

The final Lost panel was AMAZING!!!

No way I'm going to remember everything - skits, many, many exclusive videos put together for SDCC, surprise guests, etc - but here goes...

Damon and Carlton visited those camping out, very nice.

When entering Hall H, they gave out posters, pencils, and Lost University cards with a special phone number on them.

They started off with a montage video recapping Season 5 set to Knights of Cydonia by Muse. Then a video about their new online experience, Lost University - a video about studying Dharma paranormal stuff that we can enroll in. https://www.lostuniversity.org/

Then Damon and Carlton teased the final scene of the last ep, pulling out the last 2 pages of the script, locking them in a box with 2 locks and putting the keys around their necks. They said it would be revealed later on Jimmy Kimmel to prove they weren't making things up as they went.

Another couple of new videos. A 1980s VHS intro to the show Mysteries of the Universe (ala In Search of hosted by Leonard Nimoy) investigating the secrets of the Dharma Initiative. Fantastic! Then a commercial for Mr. Cluck's starring Hurley intro'ing their new Australian Outback Chicken. :lol hilarious. Hurley talked about everything going right for him since he won the lottery (hmmm...) and seemed to have never gone to the island!

Then funny Q&A skit with an obsessive fan painting a velvet picture of carlton and damon and a polar bear. ( damoncarltonandapolarbear.com ).
Followed by Jorge Garcia appearing in the audience asking a question about the commercial they made him film for Mr. Cluck's and why Hurley seemed to have good luck, Mr. Cluck's was not destroyed, and he seemed to have not gone to the island - no answers to that. Then he asked if all questions will be answered, like what happened to Shannon's inhaler they tried to get from Sawyer in S1, but Sawyer didn't have. Are they going to explain where the inhaler is?? :D

Then Michael Emerson appeared next to Jorge and sarcastically made fun of him, his question and how everything is all about him. Jorge said he was just jealous he didn't get the part of Hurley. Emerson said he never even auditioned for that role "dude", but Jorge begged to differ. Cut to hilarious tape of Emerson badly auditioning for Hurley in dew rag and tshirt. :lol

Then some real Q&A - we'll see Juliet & Farraday again next season, Jacob has never appeared as anyone other than himself to the castaways, we'll see many familiar faces from previous seasons, they hope to explain the air drops of supplies, S6 won't have time jumping, or flashbacks or flash forwards... some new device will be intro'd and S6 will have a S1 type feel with lots of action and revelations, they neither confirmed nor denied man in black is named Esau - Emerson admitted they have some Biblical references but they back off before they become too overt, there will be a "very involved" back story for Richard next season. Then a question about Richard's eyeliner. Nestor was actually backstage they said and cut to a camera sneaking up on him as he applied eyeliner in the mirror. "Richard isn't immortal," he said into the mirror, "you are." :lol Then he gets angry because someone substituted his onyx eyeliner with ebony. "I always wear onyx! ^^^^ing unprofessional!" he yelled Christain Bale style as he attacked the cameraman. then he came out and joined the rest.

Then more videos. One a new commercial for Oceanic airlines "where you meet your destiny" and a very interesting America's Most Wanted hosted by John Walsh profiling Kate. This was a big revelation - KATE DID NOT KILL HER STEPFATHER! Though she tried to kill Wayne Janssen, she accidentally killed a plumber named Ryan Milner!!! This was the biggest bombshell.

Then more Q&A followed by fan made spoofs of Lost including a great Brokeback Mountain between Jack & Sawyer. Then the unveiling of the fan contest for Lost's theme song, with a new exciting, 80s action show style intro cut to it. Then another guest - Josh Holloway - introduced by a montage of Sawyer's best moments!

He comes out with a taser, insisting he will give the fans what they want, he (poorly) tased Damon and took his key for the script box. He calls Carlton Lurch and Frankenstein, takes his key and opens the box. Michael Emerson grabs the pages (because Josh left his glasses on the island) and begins to spoil the big ending for the audience - EXT Night, a circus tent collapses, Parkman looks sad, Sylar looks angry... "what the ^^^^ is this ^^^^?!" Emerson shouts. It's a lame finale for Heroes. :lol

Then an "In Memorial" montage of all the characters that have died on Lost. Priceless! The final one is a moving tribute to Charlie Pace. When the lights come on, Dominic Monaghan is on stage and the crowd freaks out. A few final thank yous to the fans and it was done.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some good stuff, but it was an amazing panel! :rock

That sounds like it was fun. Except that jab at Heroes. :lol

Very interesting Kate didn't kill her stepfather. I wonder if this will cause the audience to lose sympathy for her. It certainly casts her in a different light.

The audience universally loved the acknowledgment of what we all know - Heroes sucks! :lol

But what purpose does that Kate revelation and the Mr. Cluck's video serve? Hmmm....

Do you have any clue how much it pisses someone off when they are in denial and someone rubs their face in what they are in denial over?

I dunno about Kate, but the Mr. Cluck's video almost sounds like they do change the past and they never go to the island. :dunno

I just don't see them completely erasing the first five years of the show. It would turn it all into a complete (and inconsequential) waste of time--and with only 18 hours left, it's too close to the end to reboot everything and start all over.

Funny thing happened to the wife and I last Sunday. We live on Oahu and we bumped into the guy who plays Hurley at the Borders in our Mall. I was standing next to him in the comic asle for a few minutes before I realized who he was. My wife is a huge Lost fan so I waved her over. And of course she didn't even notice him till we walked away and I told her. That she was like what the heck and had to go back and look cause she didn't believe me.

Silly women....:lol

I agree Tom, I would dislike it if they did that as well. I hope they don't do that and if they are they better make it damn good.

no. :monkey3

If it makes any difference, they printed up a "special" Heroes comic to tie into a contest to give away a Chevy Cube. It's a not so thinly veiled car ad starring Micah and how the car helps him become 'Rebel'. Ugh. I saw one guy get one who immediately threw in on the ground in disgust and told the person "this is why we hate your show!". ouch.

Yes, but other things they said indicated the past does not change. One question from Jorge addressed this point, how can they change things if they never went to the island and set off the bomb, and wouldn't that erase 5 seasons of stuff and be cheap and piss of the audience? D&C just said, trust us. Jorge replied the last time they said 'trust us' was that Nikki and Paulo would be great. D&C just laughed and said, trust us this time for real. They're having fun teasing the audience about maaaybe Jack's plan will work, maaaybe it won't.

:rotfl That is pretty funny. The amount that they advertise cars in that show is annoying. I can't see a Versa without thinking of Hiro, or a Rogue without thinking of Claire. So I suppose in a way its not a bad way to advertise the show.

I'm sure they can come up with a way to explain it if they go that route. And given how well they have planned things out I'm sure they have a good explanation. They've had plenty of time to think about it.

Yes, the beginning they knew what they wanted and the ending as well. They've had years to figure it out, tweak and get right. They said that the most important date in the life of Lost was when they set a date for it to die. Everything began falling into place after that.

Figured I'd ask this here first before starting a new thread...

Anyone have pics of Ada's Ben sculpt painted?? Can't find any and since there's no ETA on the Andy B/Miketek Ben I figured I might pick Ada's up as a placeholder.

Sounds like maybe they should have set a death date a little sooner. I think it lost some momentum that season that Jack, Kate, and Sawyer got captured by the others. And I think they could stand to slow down a little bit now. Although I do love the fast pace and constant revelations, but sometimes I think we could use a few seconds to process things during the episode.

P.S. What's the story about your sig Entropy? It kinda creeps me out. :lol

Man, wish I could have gone to that Panel. Don't know what I was doing that day, but the description of it looks awesome. Hopefully it's online somewhere......
