This teaser looks great so far! I really like the way how you made the eyes seem so lifelike! :rock :rock :rock

Man, I'm so glad I stopped by this thread tonight. Entropy, amazing work, pal!! Wow!! That Locke is unreal and it appears Jack is going to be equally amazing!! Very cool!!

It's funny that they have all this Egyptian "symbology" but it's never explained where it game from.

The complete set has an ankh, it has this Egyptian Senet game. . . but we were still never told how the Taweret statue got there, and why Hurley was carrying the Ankh with the secret compartment. Why Egyptian??
Egyptians are just one of the many peoples who were "brought" to the island. Simple as that.

I thought the bomb never went off.

:exactly:

The white light was a time-flash. You can't detonate a hydrogen bomb with a rock, no matter how many names you call it...

If the bomb didn't go off, what caused the time-flash? And why did Sawyer immediately say "it didn't work" after the flash? Etc., etc., etc.! And if it didn't go off, then again, the writers sort of "lied" to us in order to misdirect us. Some of you people are just way to forgiving of the writing! Some call people here Sideshow Apologists, so I think we may have to label some of you as LOST Apologists!!! :gah:

'Destiny fulfilled' or just the simple act of causing the 'incident' may have caused the time flash. Also... since the FDW is what caused the initial time flashes, and we're now shown that that's 'the light' and is under the whole island, maybe when they were drilling they tapped into it, and caused the time flash.

And 'it didn't work' since they assumed that they'd be magically whisked away to LAX as if nothing happened.

As far as us being 'lied to'... the whole show has been about misdirection and red herrings. This one was no different. Were you upset at the first flashforward that we though was a flashback? What about the episode where half was Jin's flashback and half was Sun's flashforward?

It's open to interpretation, as the following posts showed. Did the bomb go off? Yeah, I think so now. That's what caused the flash. Why did Sawyer say it didn't work? Probably because he has even less idea of what is going on than the audience. Also because it didn't work.

I don't feel the need to apologize for the show. I think they made some things intentionally vague for the viewer to work out. Sometimes they flat out messed up or contradicted themselves. But all the conclusions we've been coming to are based on information the show provided.

Since when was misdirection a bad writing technique? :dunno

I guess you were pissed off at Sixth Sense when we were misdirected to believe Bruce was alive or at the misdirection that Vader killed Luke's father.

:lecture:goodpost:

I LOVE misdirection and red herrings when they are done WELL, which honestly these days, isn't always the case. I enjoy shows/movies/games/books that throw tons of possibilities out there and leave you guessing until the end.

In case you all didn't know: "COMMUNISM IS JUST A RED HERRING"

Just rewatching the ep when Richard tells Sun that he "watched them all die"

I know there was the question as to why Richard said he saw the Losties die, when they never died. Rewatching it though, it seems like Richard was just referring the the Dharma folk in general. Sun showed him a picture of a group of Dharma people, and Richard didn't know any of them personally, besides Horace, so he was probably telling Sun he watched all of them die when the Others gassed them all.

Misdirection, like any writing technique is only good when written well and used in a way that makes sense within the entirety of the story.

The misdirection of LOST is more akin to finding out at the end of the Sixth Sense that Bruce Willis was actually an alien. Or the Rebellion in Star Wars deciding to team up with the Empire (acting like they never did anything bad to them ever) to battle Satan to keep him from taking over heaven; forgetting completely about the space battles and Force stuff.
