My guess is that Claire died in the house explosion but with the islands wacky powers, she (and everyone else) just don't know it. It takes her dead dad to come and reveal it to her.
I think Myles DOES know. Remember that he kept staring at her and even asked her if she would like for him to take care of the baby. It's like he knows that "she" doesn't know that she's dead. But he doesn't want to reveal his "gift" to anyone on the island.

Hmmm, I like that theory. Would prove how Kate takes care of Aaron. Maybe sawyer stays on the island to look after ghost claire.

You notice that towards the end jack said: "you're not even related to him..." So jack knows it's his nephew.

Jack's dad was holding Aaron.

The "ghosts" have interacted with people and things since episode 1.

that is true.
so is christian jacob or does jacob just channel thru anyone he wants to to have the impact on that person he's dealing with at the moment?

i keep thinking that the producers said they werent going to portray these people as dead and not know they are like they are stuck in some purgatory or such.

Correct. The producers have already said that our group of survivors are definitely "alive" and not dead or in some kind of purgatory.

Here's another thing- As for Hurley telling Jack that Charlie said "don't raise him", I believe he didn't mean "Aaron", but he meant his dad, as in "don't raise him from the dead." There's a thought for you... They have the ability somehow to bring back the dead, now that they are off the island. Hurley brings back Charlie, his best friend. Jack brings back his dad. Remember how Kate had said that it was nice that Jack had been speaking about his dad...

Oh, I believe that Widmore was actually the captain of the Black Rock...

Food for thought...

I also think Widmore was the captain (or a native of the island that got away). You see jack's expression when Hurley said "don't raise him". Hurley didn't know what that meant, but Jack sure did; he booked it after he heard Hurley say that. And my theory of Jacob is that he not a non-corporeal existance and he takes the form of someone depending on the person he's dealing with.

but how would you explain sawyer walking and talking with claire and him telling myles to stay away from her ? or the fact the shes carrying aron, & we know aron is alive.

The dead interact with the living on the island. It's been happening since the beginning of the series. We even saw Charlie "slap" Hurley to prove that he was "there"... The dead are not "ghosts" in the island, but just outside of their own dimension. Which leads me to my theory that the island is simply a portal or gateway to different dimensions/ time lines.

I also believe that Flash-forward Jack, Hurley and Kate know that they are NOT in their own time line and that is what is driving them crazy. At first it's because they are just glad to be off the island and back in civilization. But the universe is trying to correct itself and they are not cooperating. The imbalance is what is driving them nuts. Hurley says, "We need to go back, Jack." Later on Jack is flying out every Friday hoping that the plane will crash on the island...

I don't know about that. I thoguth the producers said that there is a logical, scientific explanation for everythign on the island. What you said seems to go a little x-files route that I don't think will come to pass. I think that Future Jack and Hurley want to go back because the island itself (the force that it is) is calling them back, that they never should have left. And future kate is ignoring it because she was aaron and doesn't want to go back.

I'm finding it hard to find a logical scientific explanation for "Smokie", the black cloud, or the dead appearing to the living, or people surviving getting shot, or being able to walk when they were crippled, or being cured of cancer, or Myles' sixth sense... ;)

Just too many wacky issues that defy "scientific" explanations...

The island is definitely calling them back "because" they are not where they "should" be. Wrong universe/time-line/dimension...

Again, these are just my theories whick will probably be disproven with the next episode of this amazing series. :D

P.S. I too see some X-files stuff going on and I just hope that they don't jump the shark like they did with the later seasons of the X-Files...

P.S.S. Let's not forget how crazy it is that most of these survivors have links with each other back in the "real world"...

i believe this as well...............but what i want to know is how is ben hiding the island from him, (he should know exactly where it is) ?.......does it move (unlikely) or is ben hiding it thru time channels that whidmore cant access?.....:google

I can agree with you that I can hardly see a "real-world" explanation for everything that is going on. If they just say it's the bermuda triangle, I'm going to put my foot through the TV. I can see smokie as some sort of nano-tech defense system, the dead appareing to the living, got nothing there, surviving getting shot, it's been known to happen....

yea im a little disappointed with the direction of the show with the time travel and other ghost connections solely because the producers said there were perfectly good scientific explanations. my mindset was what are the odds of all the connections of these people..........10 bazillion to 1 but as long as it would be somewhat viable even at a high unlikelyhood i bought into it. not saying i dont like the show, i love it, im just watching it now thru a different mindset that were dealing with paranormal & scientific theory. that may be the scientific explanation the producers are talking about that is there out.........."THEORY". the only one that i knew was going to be a stretch was the smoke monster........but now with all the events as of late im sure it will make sense later.

Does any one else think that the "whispers" are the voices of the dead? Didn't Myles hear whispers when he found the bodies?

that is possible but the survivors have also heard the whispers as they have been treading thru the jungle. now as to if what they heard were real people vs "ghosts" that myles heard.........:dunno

Noooooooooooooo! Damn Time Travel stuff!

Ok I watched last weeks episode again then last nights.

1. Ben arrived in the Desert like the Terminator, except with clothes on. He was smoking, no foot prints around him and unsure of the Date, including year

2. Jack read the paper about the Red Sox winning, didn't Ben tell him that the Red Sox won while he was captive on the Island?

Other things I noticed...

1. Why was Ben called a young kid by Widmore?

2. Jack's appendix and why can't kate watch?

3. Dead people showing up everywhere!!!!!!! :duh

I'm abou ready to get put in the nut house with Hurley! :duh:banghead:duh:banghead:duh:banghead:duh

:lol:lol:lol I nearly split my gut from laughing!! Too true...

Wasn't there buzzing sounds as well? As if there was some type of interference... I need to rewatch the last two episodes and study them further... :D

Don't forget that he was wounded (shot?) and wearing a "Parka"...

Hey, another brain storm...

Ben arrived in the desert wearing a "Parka"...

Wasn't there a group of people working for Penelope, searching for the island / desmond? And wasn't this group somewhere in the arctic????

Pehaps Ben was cleaning up loose ends??

I think something happened on the island, don't know where on it he would have to where a parka, but in that instant, someone was shooting at him and the only way to get away was to use the "time/portal" machine. Whatever that is: is it jacob? and actual machine? the island itself?

2. Jack read the paper about the Red Sox winning, didn't Ben tell him that the Red Sox won while he was captive on the Island?

Jack read that the Red Sox LOST (pardon the pun) to the Yankees... He muttered "damn A-rod".

I think that Claire is most assuredly dead--- and just didn't know it.

2. Jack read the paper about the Red Sox winning, didn't Ben tell him that the Red Sox won while he was captive on the Island?

Ben told Jack they won the World Series. There was nothing said about that paper he looked at being the World Series games. But they also didn't say they weren't. Dun Dun Dun Dah!!

And yes, Happy Lost Day to all!!
