I feel the same way. I still have my SW boxes out but I doubt I'll keep the LOTR boxes out

It looks great so far...kind of like those old playsets that you folded open. Nice to show all the pieces layed out, but it reminds me of those Matchbox sets with all the little cars behind plastic.

The box is awesome looking, but huge. I'm glad I don't keep stuff MOC because that would be a pain to store. I love the box but it's probably gonna end up in the trash.

The box is very nice but I still prefer the "Star Wars" boxes that are more compact and take less space...

These are just too big.

For the record, yes they're better than the SW packaging, the LOTR packaging is so much more unique. As far as the size goes...who cares? Open him up and let him be free! These figures are way too nice to be jailed up!

It's nice but for some reason I expected them to go for the same style of boxes as the SW line.

As it happens, I too prefer the SW boxes but that's bause they are nice and easy to store.

This one is going to have to be recycled because it's too damn big.

First impression: I don't like the front flap system. I don't think it protects the inner plastic which covers the figure enough. The size doesn't bother me, even if I have no space left! My major concern though, will SSC pack them in a way that these boxes arrive undamaged at people's home? All in all, I'm happy there's some progress in this line, SSC has been pretty silent about it. Can't wait to get my LotR 12-inch figures!!

I personally would like to see more protection between box and outer box when shipped. That thin layer of bubble does nothing against any kind of minor droppage. All it does is keep the box for rubbing against the cardboard.
