Very, very brave of you. Was it difficult? How much pressure did you apply?

he is quite durable. i did hear a pop.. but he is fine..i havent taken off his clothes to see how the neck meets with that big sock for a body..but i was ready to cut his head off and take some neck out if the pushing down and bending didnt work since his neck is covered by his clothes . he is very bendy..and you should have no problem positoning his toso and neck just how you like .

Looks nicer, did you do more of a "mash down" move or a bend? That can easily be taken out of context.

both. i just positioned him how i wanted..and it took both mashing down and bending to get his head lower..but also leaning to his side so he looks like hes looking over lukes shoulder

Great pix of a nice figure. Still, I'm happy that I cancelled mine. I was uncomfortable about the way Yoda looked, sitting in his bag on Luke's back, and the way Yoda's hands were placed on Luke's back... Something didn't seam right. And I guess my motivation to buy this piece was not the best: I thought I had to buy it because this is the closest I will ever get to a descent looking Yoda in that size (the Attakus Yoda is just to pricy for what it is IMO).
But actually, I'm looking for a Yoda, not a Yoda on Luke's back. So I passed. Meanwhile, SSC has released the 1:1 Yoda which I find to be the best 1:1 yoda out there, and then Medicom made their VCD Yoda, that I think is a very nice attempt to capture the likeness. I ordered that one, and for now, I'm happy with it.

drjedisith, I think the way you posed Yoda on Luke's back, is the most accurate way I've seen it done until now. Good one!

Great pics, I'll most likely get this off ebay later on. I still don't think this is as good as Obi-wan or Leia. Luke looks cartoonish to me, Yoda too happy. Its good but not great like the others and not worth the retail price.

I can't stand that Yoda. He looks like a mold growth out of Luke's backpack!

Probably not the version you've been seeing

Those pictures are how Yoda and Luke's face should have been sculpted, Yoda's smiling like he's high and enjoying the ride and Luke looks like he's looking back at him as if to say what's wrong with you. The look to get is a frustrated Luke and a worried Yoda.

Precisely. The first picture.. THAT'S how I wanted the PF. It's a pondering moment, about the mysteries of the Force and whatnot. That's the sense of wonder I got out of ESB. The PF gives me the impression that Yoda did something dirty.

Also, the green on Yoda is way off.

It's a very well crafted piece, they did a great job and the sculptures are very well done, they're just not the emotion of the film. I thought about getting this piece for a time more so because of the Vader helmet, that came out real good.

See, I think they got the emotion just right. Luke, exhausted, expectant, just learning of his ability and strength, and yet needing assurance from Yoda. And Yoda, slightly mischievous, yet immensely glad that the son of Skywalker has come to be trained at last.

It's not about following any particular film frame or production still, it's about the story. And I'm so happy they chose to do this half-turned pose for Luke, and this happy expression for Yoda. This is the exact midpoint of the OT, after all, so it's fitting Luke should be on a crossroads, both in posture and emotion, and that Yoda should have his one last moment of high hopes before his death.

So yes, count me in the camp of those who give this piece the highest marks.

as most all have that have it in-hand.

I have to agree. Seeing mine in person, it looks more like Mark Hamill than any of the production or prototype pictures I had seen. I actually think it looks better than what I remember seeing at SDCC. (But I think I was distracted by the presence of the Fett PF...)

This is the best Mark Hamill resemblance in a statue ever.
Can't wait to get my Pf Luke & Yoda ex, should be here soon.

This is the first PF that I feel it is a necessity to own the exclusive version. That helmet and head are soooo nice. Not really a necessary part of the PF, but too cool not to have.

Well,

I saw this in person today.

It looks ok.

Yoda's neck is off but maybe it could be bent some?

Oh well, looking forward to some new announcements at Toy Fair.

Bring on Fett!!

I can see the difference when looking at the pics, and, to an extent, I understand everyone's gripe. But I guess that, like Seretur, I have a different perspective when it comes to admiring these things. I'm not after a frame grab.

And, while I recognize that Yoda looks different in those particular frame grabs, I know for a fact that I've seen him at some point in the film with that exact expression on his face. That expression itself is representative of the character for me, as Luke's posture is representative of that moment in the film.

If anything, the sculpt and the characters' expressions do a better job of capturing that moment in the film than the film did itself. As a sculpture must, I think, due to its static nature. The film has the advantage of movement and sound to aid in the delivery of its message. Lacking those critical qualities, a sculptor must take a bit of artistic license when crafting the statue in order to evoke the same emotional qualities. In this case, the artistic license was used to great effect. :rock
