I like the look of him holding helmet under one arm and gloves in the other. Is it over priced? Yes. Am I glad I have it ordered? Yes. Am I irresponsible with my money? Absolutely...

It's looking... ok.

I think I prefer the Hoth Luke sculpt, but it's not too bad. It's not worth the current price to me after conversion. If it were cheaper I'd consider it, say Tie Pilot price. But since I'd want to display with helmet in one hand and gloves in the other price likely won't get better than a $20 coupon so this will have to be a pass.

Love the outfit. It looks great and looking forward to the tie pilot even more now which I was really on the fence about. Guess I'll probably get TFA Tie Pilot to go with the OT Tie Pilot instead of this.

Hope you guys getting this are happy with your in hand figs.

Can't forget the duo !

Here are some more images of the helmet and body with helmet.

That looks very nice. The key problem with the head is the eyes and the visor hides that well. In some ways it would have made sense for it just to come with helmet attached to the head - easier to deliver the goods on. A clean head is the toughest thing to pull off.

Thanks again for all the pics Tesla, I was really looking forward to good clear pics to decide on this fig - would rep you if I could!:clap

EDIT:

I do wish the red helmet emblem colors were closer to the maroon onscreen version, as shown in the 1/6 Gentle Giant bust's helmet:

I can't believe Sideshow thought this was a better idea than a second helmeted head and helmet. This figure LITERALLY has NO accessories and cost more than a Hot Toys figure with tons of accessories.

To me, that screams "over-engineering". Surely it would've been easier and more cost effective to just have a second, helmeted sculpt.

Thinking of a fantasy Dagobah Luke, this figure minus the head, Stormtrooper Luke head and the battle damaged DX07 hair piece.

I say fantasy since the hair piece on ST Luke unfortunately is not removable and even if it were it's unlikey the DX07 hair would fit. But with the sweat on ST Luke's face and the wet look DX07 hair, I think it would make a pretty sweet Dagobah Luke with maybe some treatment to the suit to make it look wet and stained and maybe hang a little heavily to imitate it being waterlogged.

I'm sure some have the skills here to pull it off. Rory did a pretty good swap with the DX07 face to Hoth Luke head gear.

I love how folks say the sculpt just needs a better paint job and therefore almost justifies their purchase and everything else as "ok."

Imagine buying a brand new Corvette and the paint being terrible! You paid the full price of 60k+...but I guess it whats "underneath" that matters.

Still just not feeling this figure. Had high hopes as I love the pilot look. Thanks for all the pics, Tesla! He looks pretty good in some of the shots. Looks nice paired up with R2.

I'm sure we'll see some pics with the HT head sculpts, but I'm still more curious about the helmet on look even with those. There's a somewhat anime look to Luke in this production version--the big irises maybe.

It's funny.... and scary.

Isn't ceremonial/Yavin Luke considered the worst Luke Sideshow ever did though? I always notice it dirt-cheap on eBay vs. farmboy Luke, which seems to sell pretty well.

And the price difference was $55 vs $240.
