What a joke, I did nothing of the sort. I wrote that a silly excuse was coming up and it happened even before I had time to click post. In general it seems you really have a problem with people disagreeing with you or not expressing enough unconditional love for Sideshow. It's as if someone kicked your woman in the teeth or beat your dog. You should take a breath, look at yourself and try to do something about that. Because frankly, threatening someone (who is located a third of the world away) on the internet makes you look a bit stupid.

I'm sure there will be a lot of takers for a straight swap of heads once these figures start arriving to members here. It's a good deal for you too as the SSC figure costs more. :)

Another option could be all of the complainers shut up since we know you are not buying this figure and let those who did purchase it express their opinion once it's in hand good , bad or so so. The complaining is starting to get a bit out of hand especially from people who have no intention of buying the figure in the first place.

Wan Lee (Paint, Development)

So he paints the prototype; takes an unpainted head and writes numbers on it so the factory can literally paint by numbers.

However, in order to speed up production the painters are issued with bigger paint brushes so they can paint at least two numbers in one stroke?

Nevertheless, this is the best evah off-the-shelf sixth scale Luke X-Wing Pilot action figure that's evah been...evah.

(But only until Sideshow release their ESB version with new sculpt and improved painting!)

Thanks for the photos, Tesla. I chose these two to represent SS Luke's finest moment (even though he's got three gloves :wink1: ):

Clothing, fit and proportions look good, as is the underlying sculpt. The helmet hides the failings that generally beset a Sideshow product.

Dumb question: Is the folded glove accessory a single glove or a pair or gloves? I'd prefer two bare hands with one holding the glove but hate to spend $240 on "I lost my mitten Luke"...

I zoomed in Tesla's great pics to get some closer pics of the head... it's looking okay (the shadowing and slightly blurry pic are helping though.) As mentioned earlier, the eyes and the hair are the weakest parts, both of which the helmet/visor covers, so I'm starting to mull getting this one. I really love the X-Wing outfit they've done, though I may use the correctly sized chestbox from Hasbro.

Like the Hoth Luke and Han, the eyes seem to be the recurring issue for Sideshow. To some degree, I actually prefer the glass eyes of the Hoth Luke over these painted eyes because of the outlines.

Leaving the eyes aside for a moment, I noticed that on the body of the HT Han figure, the paint on the arms, shoulders, lower back (tons of areas that are never seen) have far more skin detail than the SS Hoth head sculpts for example. I get that painting the eyes must take tons of talent, but if Hot Toys is adding that skin detail to pretty much half the body, can it really be that difficult/expensive for SS to add that type of thing as a base skin to the head sculpts? It really takes the sculpts to the next level and makes them photograph well. :dunno

Granted I haven't seen the pilot sculpt in person but no photo has suggested this type of detail. If I grab this at some point it'll be definitely helmet on (probably would have been anyhow), but also possibly a head swap if it looks good with the helmet (a bit worried about size issues with the eyes and lenses as the sideshow sculpt seems a touch bigger overall).

Clockwise from top left (Han solo cheek, Luke Hoth cheek, Han shoulder, Han back).

You wrote that a xenophobic excuse was coming up, and there's a difference between not expressing unconditional love for Sideshow and treating them rudely because you don't like a doll.

You're not exactly the most genuine person ever, huh?

Went ahead and grabbed this for $204 shipped from Timewalker. Not thrilled at that price but much better than $248 for me shipped from SS. I fully expected the sculpt to stink anyway so I am going to pop one of the HT Luke heads on this. Hopefully the new body neck plug will accept the HT head ok. I really like the helmet holding display and it is unfortunate the SS head is just not going to work for me for with that option. Now off to find some military gloves for Luke to hold.

Yeah, that's weird, huh? You could see it in the prototype for HT Luke, but it wasn't nearly as pronounced as it appears to be in the production figure.

I'm really sorry for posting this pic, but curiosity won this battle. And yes, I am terrible with photoshop.
