I had Faramir repainted and it made a world of difference. I did the same with the Aragorn figure.

I'd love to see that. The sculpt looks fairly good underneath all that dollar store make up.

Of course we did...one of the only games in town at the time. Especially for LOTR fans. Still the ONLY "high end" Faramir ever made.

Few figures can say that. Faramir holds a special place.

His name even gave rise to the concept of the feared -- "Faramir Factory" -- which still terrorizes to this day.

People do seem to forget that these figures are were released 7-8 years ago. Of course they are not going to stand up to todays standards. It seems like people are reaching to find excuses to put the Luke figure down . As far as the LOTR figures go yes most need a repaint and body swap but Gandalf and Legolas turned out pretty good. The likeness are there the paint is the problem but again were are talking about figures that are 7-8 years old.

I think Wor-gar's sole point was that the Luke X-Wing hair sculpt reminded him of the Faramir hair sculpt from so many years ago in terms of lack of sculpt detail (and maybe unreality of paint apps.) I don't think he ever inferred the Luke face sculpt/apps were on par with Faramir.

SS exclusives will never be at retailer unless they buy it at retail from SS and sell it for more. Thats the point of the exclusive.

Yes, exactly, thank you. Of course, I exaggerated based on the reality of the "Faramir".

But uneven paint apps has been a big problem for Sideshow since the beginning of time.

Popcultcha has some for some reason. They have Luke Hoth and then they have some of the Hot Toys ones--Spacetrooper, Luke Stormtrooper--up for pre-order.

Or if the exclusives are slow sellers and they are then made available to the re-sellers (frequently as of late). This happens a bunch with the HT summer exclusives.

There are several sites that have Bank Robber Joker (GoHastings), Popculcha has the EX Luke Hoth, it depends on the figure popularity.

I should have specified, I'm looking for non-US sellers as I'm Down Under. In particular I thought some Asian online stores might get the ex's.

They might open this up to generate more sales. Hell, Timewalker just did a blow-out at $204 already and this thing has barely shipped from SS.

If this gets down to a $199 price I will seriously consider it.

I don't know if a two-day sale for 15% is a blow-out sale. That's pretty close to SS's own $20 coupon plus the rewards points they offer. $209 vs $204, and at this point it gets you the regular instead of the exclusive.

I'm sure their shipping is cheaper though, as who isn't cheaper than SS at this point. If I could get this for under $200 shipped I would likely bite too, assuming the HT head can be made to look good with the helmet on.

well the great part is that the HT head is a bald sculpt just like this one. The only issue I can see is the fine little sliver of hair that is remaining on the top bangs on the SS Luke sculpt. It might require a little meatball surgery to do a little "Hairclub for Men" action on it so the bangs are there for the sculpt. If that is something of interest.

I grabbed the pleather gloves from the Judge Dread heavy armor cop. They are a long glove with a leather look throughout after removing the straps and will look really good I think.
