Man, that looks like a sweet little package. Out of all the "passes" this is the most tempting. I have an ESB Luke, and I'll surely pick up Farm Boy if HT does one, so 3 is too much.
I'm undecided on which versions of Luke I want but admittedly he's the one character I can see myself buying multiple versions of (maybe Han too). Of his looks to me the farmboy look is the least appealing. I love the first film but never was huge on his look in it, but still I'll likely get it to go with the other characters from A New Hope. Jedi Luke is a must for me and I have the DX07 so the Bespin look is covered. The pilot look is cool but I'm not sure how necessary it is to have. If the price is right and the figure looks good though I might cave.

Well in all fairness none of Luke's "main" looks were very compelling. :lol It's funny when I was a kid I thought Jedi Luke was the coolest, now I think its boring. I want farm boy Luke and that will probably be it for him. I dont want to get into the habit of buying numerous versions of the same character.

I normally don't buy multiples of a character unless the character is one I like a lot and in the case of Luke I can make an exception. Personally I love the Jedi look, its very simple but looks kind of badass. The Bespin outfit is cool too but the weird robe looking shirt from A New Hope was never my favorite.

:exactly: . Using the zoom on my browser it is another helmet. Looking at the gloved hand below the non-helmeted head it looks like it could grip a helmet at the side of his body with it's bent fingers.

That's a pose I think everybody would like to do sometimes. I know I will. :yess:

I know I will!

You have a good imagination. Look at the walls where Luke is laying -- don't see a lot of room there for a second layer that would include everything you mentioned.

There is definitely room to lay the base of the stand, the stand pole and a ladder underneath. If laid flat, those accessories would need no more than 1/2 an inch, 3/4 an inch tops. Plus if the foam went that far down to the bottom of the container, you wouldn't be able to see his right foot at all.

It's funny - I'm the exact opposite. Jedi Luke with cloak on looks bad*ss, center of my Jabba display with force hand out, but farmboy Luke to me these days is a "need one to complete display and will click heels when HT announces" but not something I can't wait to see. Kind of feel the same way about SW Leia - somewhat plain costume but iconic as hell.

I know I will!

One of the downsides to HT doing all the big SW figs is that so many stunning customs will be made obsolete. I guess everyone gets a shot at an amazing fig via HT, not just those with customization skills or the cash to buy a brilliant custom (though the difference between custom prices and a HT fig has narrowed...,) but the dedication customizers display is a true testament to the love of SW.

Admittingly, it's sort of a let down when SS or HT announce they're producing a figure that was previously only available in custom form. I literally JUST finished that Red Five Luke one month before the SS announcement! Still the customization process for me is always a lot of fun as it's a project that I enjoy very much. My customs will always have a place in my collection even when I acquire their licensed counterparts.

I really like this figure, but I am only allowing myself one representative character per film. So I am holding out for HT Farmboy Luke.

I want Luke to go up for order now! All looking good. Holding out for R2. I will see if I can get the price lowered with a coupon or rewards. C3P0 looks great.

So the helmet really isn't removeable -- no clamshell as someone previously mentioned. There's just a choice of helmetless head or helmeted head.

It would be good if this was the new plan from Sideshow. :)

But it might just be a case of them taking a separate helmet and head, and a head already fitted with a helmet, just to display the options. :(

Maybe they scrapped the clamshell plan, though anything's possible.

Though I have no idea why they're all spread out on that table, it would be nice to see foam used in production boxes - I'm not a fan of the vac-molded plastic. These may just be for storage and transport during development and packing for shows, etc. Or maybe figuring out how to lay out the pieces before they create a die pattern for cutting production foam - maybe to plan a plastic vacuum mold.
