Yeah, the clamshell was officially mentioned by SSC, but maybe the plan has changed. Two heads are better than one!

Hmmm. Should this be my Luke Skywalker??? Or Hoth Luke???

do you think this comes with a lightsaber.

from the photos we could guess that there is no lightsaber. That is also true to the movie.

From the photos there are clearly 2 heads, helmet-less and with helmet. We have not seen any decent photos of the sculpt yet, though.

Some will still put the DX07 headsculpt on this.... pretty sure of that.

if you could buy any of these two at the same price, which one would you get?

Definitely ESB Snowspeeder pilot for me. Just not with that stupid looking DX07 head sculpt (which looks fine/great on the body/outfit it came with). ;)

Anyway, this figure specifically, has already been confirmed by Sideshow to NOT come with a Lightsaber of any kind.

I've been asking myself the same question since I saw SSC's reveal. All in or wait it out for the ESB version.

But can you miss out on the Luke that destroys the Death Star...?
Idk they both look good tbh
SS Luke is cleaner and uses a better sculpt from what we can tell so far.

Blasphemy!

We all know that Luke's lightsaber was in the glove compartment of Red 5.

It's funny - I'm the exact opposite. Jedi Luke with cloak on looks bad*ss, center of my Jabba display with force hand out, but farmboy Luke to me these days is a "need one to complete display and will click heels when HT announces" but not something I can't wait to see. Kind of feel the same way about SW Leia - somewhat plain costume but iconic as hell.

Plus, for me, SW >>>> ROTJ

So the helmet really isn't removeable -- no clamshell as someone previously mentioned. There's just a choice of helmetless head or helmeted head.

I'm happier with the 2 head sculpts.
I'd be worried if the "clamshell" would scrape up the paint and sculpt.
This way fans can pose him any way they want.
Think they'll add just an empty helmet so fans can pose him holding it under his arm?
That'd be a cool extra.

Nothing has been confirmed from SSC regarding a second headsculpt/helmet.

They did officially confirm the helmet as a clamshell design at SDCC, and that would indicate only one complete (hair-on) head and one helmet.

Maybe something has changed (2 heads would be awesome) but what you see in the picture may simply be two of the same head displayed differently to save them damaging prototype paint by opening and closing the clamshell.

I definitely agree about the coolness of a second display helmet - which would need a few interior details, something that a clamshell would have a tough time delivering on.

I guess that may just be how they transport prototypes. But it looked to me like the mockup for what will be the actual packaging.

I think this has become my most anticipated upcoming SW 1/6 pre-order. I can't wait to see the full reveal for this, but judging from all the pics so far it's a huge win.

I'm still on the fence about the Hot Luke though so I need to figure this out soon.

Sooooo much SW goodness these days!:clap

The proto looks phenomenal, but with HT diving into SW, I'm tempted to wait. Their sculpts are usually far superior to SS production pieces.
