The problem with all of these ebay customs I've seen is that they never seem to have good clear pictures. If they expect people to pay hundreds of dollars for a 1/6th scale figure, is it too much to ask for a clear shot of the head?

Sold for 350$. The winner has a 0 feedback but has 1 negative for not paying on a 150$ transformer-seller, good luck cashing in.

the seller can read them. other bidders cant. actually i like this because some people sift through your history and try to see how much you are willing to bid on stuff.

Oh, I never heard of this before. Good idea I guess.

But how would someone surf your history to see how much you're willing to bid a new item? And even if they did, how would that change a bidding auction? I mean, you bid how much you are willing to spend, that's it. If someone wants to know how much you're willing to spend, they can just keep bidding until they outbid you. Not sure I understand how this helps either party.

Anyway, I hope Shawn gets his price. His next Lurtz auction will tell us what happened based on what he sets as the BIN price.

well people dont work that way. ever been sniped? i just love it when im the high bidder for 5 days and then when there is 1 min left some yahoo comes by and puts in 20 bids till he beats you by $1. if he wants the item why doesnt he put in 1 maximum bid amount?

People snipe because they want the item for the lowest possible price. They don't want to bid it up while the auction is running. They would rather wait till the last possible moment to ensure the lowest price. I think sniper programs run by you putting in a maximum anyway, as you wouldn't want another sniper program to out bid you ad infinitum. I really can't see the point of bidding until the last minute. You set your maximum, and if you don't win, you at least have the satisfaction of not going over your limit.

He should. :lol But yes, there is that "I got to win" thing that happens...only one more buck. I hate snipe programs. And yes, I have been sniped more than I have ever won.

But I still don't see how that applies to viewing history to judge how much someone will spend...unless it applies to the same item. Take Lurtz. The guy bids $350. So he's worried someone will check his history to see if he's willing to go to $450? Who checks this? The seller seems like the only logical one, if he's got separate ID's to bid and raise his price. I'm always suspect of that going on when I see 0 feedback bidders. Not that I'm saying Shawn did this. And I didn't know about the privacy thing that hides your bid history and scrambles your name. But how do you really know?

If this really is a privacy thing, I don't like it. It allows crooked people to use that system against real bidders to raise the bidding. There's no way for me, as a potential buyer, to see if that is a legit bid.

I have always waited to bid at the last moment unless it is an item I only somewhat want. I wait until 30 seconds and set my max bid-If I win great, if not oh well. I don't know about snipping programs. My only goal is to win at the lowest cost possible. I personally don't care if someone looks at my history-I'm not looking for vintage porn or anything.

Very good! Although I don't like the twelve-inch line - I think it's too puppet-like...
But this is a very nice piece!

looks like i might get this after all. the 0 feedback bidder must have backed out of the deal. i got a second chance from the seller. currently working out the deal.:D

I never really dug Lurtz as a character, but that figure is awesome. If you get it, you better post pics (especially with boromir and aragorn :rock)

I never understand why people bid and then back out. What's the appeal? I mean, I can understand changing your mind or having buyer's remorse, but it seems that a lot of people bid knowing full well that they won't pay.

The only logical reason is to bump up the price.
