Yeah, I rarely watch a movie twice at the theaters, but I'm willing to see this one on the big screen again.
Another thing I loved was how the War Boys looked the the Wild Boys of Duran Duran's 80's video, which in turn were inspired by The Road Warrior. Very cool.

Actually I thought Wild Boys was more BT-influenced, it came out around the same time...

Watched this again today. I am now convinced Hardy is playing The Feral Kid, who's taken up Max's persona.

I had my suspicions the first time I saw the movie. The music box, Furiosa's 20 years in captivity, Max's tattoos, Hardy's odd voice and grunting...today it was the flashbacks to his daughter getting killed. Mel loses his wife and son the way Hardy loses his daughter. My theory is the kid did become the Leader of The Great Northern Tribe but then the Tribe got wiped out and he lost his daughter in the process. At some point he runs into Max who's either dead or dying and takes the jacket from him along with the rebuilt Interceptor. He then hits the road as history repeats itself.

At the start he says he was once a cop,, a road warrior (I guess that could be part of the delusion).

But the Miller-written prequel comic will show this is the same Max from BT and the girl is a prisoner from Gastown he fails to save.

He makes strange choices too. Like Gyro Captain not being the same guy from RW.

And how do all these weirdoes find all this football equipment to make outfits from?

Its implied that Jebediah from BT is the Gyro Captain from RW.

When he first sees Max in Bartertown he smiles as if he recognizes him. When they finally come face to face they play off each other as if there was some unspoken history. And the kid's probably a son he fathered with the blonde from Papagallo's camp.

I agree -- I always thought it was the same guy, based on those same assumptions.

But I've been told and read here that it's not the same character. So what are you to believe: what you 'assume' or what people 'inform' you on? Always a tough choice.

Beyond my previous post above, here's what you get when you google the debate:

◾There is debate amongst fans regarding whether Jedediah from Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome is also the Gyro Captain from Mad Max 2, as the actor Bruce Spence portrays the two characters, both of which having similar characteristics. George Miller has stated that they are in fact different characters altogether . The ending of the Road Warrior also states that the Gyro Captain became the leader of the Great Northern tribe. The Road Warrior novella reported that he then died felling wood in 2013.

I don't know George Miller personally so I can't vouch for the info, but it seems to be the story going around... regardless of what one surmises from the viewing.

Spence has said that it wasn't the same.

That just baffles me lol

I think Miller likes to troll people with stuff like this. Like why have all these clues in the film if they mean nothing?

"We'll make them think its the same guy - but its not. HAHAHAHAHA"
