Pregnant girl getting run over.

Man twirling umbilical.

Just two things that might affect an R.

Miller probably wanted the R. And since when did ratings ever effect how a movie does? I've never seen the teenage ticket-yankers at movies ever stop a kid from entering an R movie.

Doesn't R stand for R U Going?

box office

box office = sequels.

pg13 + big box office = Guaranteed sequels

:(

If he wanted it Rated R then ok so be it

but this movie is rated 15 or teen in Europe and Australia (I dont know what the exact term is) teenagers are able to see it over there. Just in puritanical good old US of A it had to get an R rating for "Implied violence" :ohbfrank:

Weird. But the rating system here has always been weird.

JAWS was PG.

R here usually implies there's nudity.... or really insane graphic violence "in a violent context". For instance, a T-rex eating you and shaking you wildly in its mouth is not a "violent context" because its a make-believe animal (in this case extinct). So I don't know what "insane graphic violence" really is.

They air The Walking Dead on basic cable at 7 am so... yea.

they were able to show a woman with her intestines hanging out of her body, her mid section opened

but showing a nipple will destroy american society...

I almost wish Mad Max was edited differently for the US market. all they had to do is take out a couple of scenes and it would have been pg 13,
take out the pregnant woman getting run over (Just imply it)
take out the baby fetus scene (Again, imply it)
take out the milking scene.

Done. you now have a pg 13 movie for american audiences...:dunno

One thing these forums have taught me, nerds can be vicious when others don't like their ****. :lol

Go ahead hate lolcats all you want, see if I care. :lol
