Man, this thing sold extremely well around here. All of the Best Buys were sold out of the Steelbook version. I ended up settling for the Target edition with the comic just to have some sort of bonus. I ended up getting that last one of those there too (actually had to use store pick up option online to even locate the darn thing!). Even though it sucks I missed on out the steelbook (no real loss, I just like that poster better than the lame one they went with for the normal Blu Rays) it means its at least selling better than expected I think. Hopefully strong home video sales give it enough of a push we get another one someday.

Kind of related: I can't believe the PC version of the game is only sold as a download in the U.S.

I hate steam. Looks like the UK had choice of DVD or Downloads. Guess I'll have to import one
if that's the case.

Is it worthy of a blind purchase on steelbook?

I-rex kicked Ultron's ass.

Sad to see so many cartoons make the top 10. But that's gets the whole family to buy tickets.

At least my personal top 3 for the summer made the top 10.

Also -- Just picked up 3D Fury Road for tonight's viewing pleasure! This blu-ray is everywhere. Made a stop at Ralphs on the way home and they were selling this there by the boatload.

Compton, PP2 and Fury were your 3?

:lol

Compton is supposed to be great, but I don't think I could get through it. PP2 I will proudly never see.

My 3 favs this summer were, in order:

Mad Max: Fury Road
Jurassic World: the Exceptionally Brutal End of Zara
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation

I expect Bond and Star Wars to join those 3 for my Top 5 for the year 2015.

Safeway had a full-on cardboard stand for the DVDs and Blu-Rays. Not just a stand, though. Lifesize character outlines and everything. Hope the standard sells as well as the steelbook seems to be.

I'm sure Hollywood's thrilled with these numbers. :lol

Box office is up nearly 10 percent from last year, but it seems underwhelming to me. If only AoU had been a better movie and made more domestically.

Jurassic world sucked!!

Yep -- JP4 sucked up an extra $200 million more than Avengers 2.

Back to MAX: just watched 3D -- blown away! Pure awesomeness. This movie is just so killer. I wish I had seen it once more in the theater. Just love it, glued to the visuals all the way thru, barely any down time.

My favorite 2015 Summer Movie by a very long stretch. My new favorite 3D blu ray.

Wish they included the black-and-white version.

I loved the movie too. I just think the main character could have been someone other than Mad Max. Mel Gibson solidified the role for me. Hardy could have been anyone else. It's a complete new world with a lot of people running around this could have involved someone else. Still loved the movie.

Agreed. Kind of how Neil Blomkamp keeps making the same type of "future slums" movie but with different actors and characters. Miller could have just said I'm doing another "V8 Apocalypse" and just called it Fury Road instead of Mad Max. Hell they could have literally released the SAME movie, even still have him say his first name is Max at the very end. Just make it that much more ambiguous.

That said, I watched it a fourth time last night and it STILL blows me away. The most amazing location shoot since Fellowship of the Ring. I do have to give FR the slight edge over Ex Machina as best movie of the year and it's absolutely in my top three action films of all time.

Four movies over $300 million is impressive ... and with the last Hunger Games and The Force Awakens coming, that should be six for the year. I'm pretty sure that's never happened before. In fact, I don't think there's ever been five before, let alone six.

I don't believe there have ever been six but 2012 did indeed have five films in the $300+ million domestic club (with three of them over $400 million):

The Avengers $623,357,910
The Dark Knight Rises $448,139,099
The Hunger Games $408,010,692
Skyfall $304,360,277
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey $303,003,568
