They basically compared it to older James Bond films where they're all basically about one character but don't have a set chronological path, and one movie isn't really a specific sequel to another one

I always preferred "different adventures" that didn't necessarily have to be put in any order. OCD kids changed all that. Need order. And "origin". Ugh! The "origin" film ruined everything.

Yep. I love the limited rehash of events from decades past and no tease for an upcoming villain or chapter. Just one effing kickass movie. The end. If you want to make it a saga then that's on you. Not that I'm against sequential chapters or sagas of course. But let's not all try to be the "whatever cinematic universe."

Remove Max from the movie, have the Warboy that converts take Max's role, he does everything Max does, replace Warboy's position with one of the wives and title the movie "Warboy: Fury Road" :lol

No need to even use the character Max in this movie.

Let me go give a thumbs up to my Road Warrior dvd. :lol

That's a good idea. But an even better idea is to go back to Road Warrior, take out Max, have the gangly gyro-flying weirdo do everything Max does, replace Max's position with the chick who gets raped and killed (you know, for some Weekend at Bernie's type humor), and title the movie: "Air Warrior"

Or let's do this Jye -- go back and re-work AoU into a good movie.

Give Iron Man a suit we care about; give Thor an understandable subplot; give Hulk something to smash that matters; stop giving Hawkeye old "Xander" dialogue; and stop relying on Captain America to bounce around like Spiderman and out-fight just about every Avenger in the film. Hell, he can almost lift the hammer.

Or better yet -- just give that movie to Vision.

Hunh, you're placing 2 in Max's role. :lol

No I've got it. After Beast and Stryker try to kidnap Angel before they are thwarted by Bane have Samuel L. Jackson show up and somehow get them all to work together as a team and call it Nick Fury Road.

One of my early theories was that TH steals Max's identity then the real MG turns up at the end to reclaim the mantle.

As for chronology, FR to me felt like a much improved remake of BT.

The extended cut will make it an even better movie.

I'm thinking back to the dog holding the string attached to the shotgun in RW, there is nothing in FR that is special like that, it's all boom boom boom.

FR > Raiders

See what you made me do. :lol

An interesting vibe that I got from this movie (which I guess is a bit of an extension of Thunderdome) is that the apocalypse has gone on long enough that there are no "regular" people anymore. Every group they come across, including old ladies, are battle hardened badasses. Because if you aren't a warrior or someone's slave you're long dead at this point.

They can also fix any machine and car -- where do they get all these spare parts?

If 95% of the world's population had died off, it seems like there would be plenty of spare parts to go around. Yet, they're all driving in these desolate, arid areas with almost no former towns or cities to be seen, so. . .?
