Here are some photos of my progress on the 1/6 zipper mod. I still need to apply more chain, then make the zipper guides and pull tabs... but so far, I'm loving the results. Compared to the original white zipper that came with this Iris jacket, there's no contest.

That looks great man, yeah zippers are a big bug for me now, that you pointed it out. Looks like your gonna have the best Max in town.

Great work there Anthrapoid! I really appreciate the attention to detail. The MFP name plate under the collar is also a nice addition. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished result. Remind me, did you intend to have the jacket partially closed/zipped up? Great work so far.

Thank you cpoll36!
Yes, zipped-up about 30% of the way, as in the film. The way I'll simulate that is by installing thin neodymium magnets on the inside of the jacket. Then I can slide the magnet connections back and forth a bit until the left and right zipper edges are touching. Lastly, I'll glue on a tiny metal zipper guide with a pull-tab to cover the area of separation and make it look like it's zipped-up to that point.
I'll do the same with the zipper on the left sleeve, but without magnets; it will be zipped half-way just with glue.
This is what the metal zipper guides and pull-tabs look like:

The metal name plate needs some explaining: In MAD MAX, the plate read: 'MFP 4073'.
For some odd reason, in Road Warrior, they shortened it to 'P 4073'.
So, I'm printing a tiny decal of P 4073 to put on the name plate.
I also applied two tiny 1mm metal rivets at each end, but you probably can't see them in the photos.

And by the way- for modders, I HIGHLY reccommend this glue. It's a special type of cyanoacrylate, but it doesn't cause any white fogging or 'burn' that normal 'super-glue' does. It can even be used on clear plastic parts, with no fogging whatsoever. It dries clear, and matte. If you look at the zipper chain I glued on, the dried glue is in plain sight- but totally invisible.

Update: All the zipper chain is in place. Now I'm waiting for small photo-etched parts
to arrive in the post so I can make the zipper guides and pull tabs from them.
The chain is Sterling silver and polished to a high shine; after I dull it a bit, it will photograph better.

Hey thanks for the info about the glue. I have been looking for a clear glue to attach zippers to my custom Indy figures and this looks perfect. Thank you.

Thanks for the compliments, Wor-Gar and cpoll36! And EcklecticBadges, glad to be of help with the glue.

After my MAX figure is totally finished in the fall, my next custom will be Humungus. The two will be a good book-end pair.
I'm going to talk to Jon De Guzman to see of he'll make the metal hockey mask for me.

You mean the Lord Humungus.

The Warrior of the Wasteland! THE AYATOLLAH OF ROCK N' ROLLA!

You little puppy.

Got the Ulli head today. OMG it is so good :clap Thanks for helping me complete my Road Warrior.

I just made the sculpt a bit dirtier sweaty look, as it was a bit to clean out of the box.

Can't wait for mine to arrive. What body did you use?

Looks great, shells075!
I got my Ulli sculpt a while back, and I'm really happy with it.
After I get my set of metal accessories by Jon De Guzman in October,
I'm going to make a custom-sculpted shoulder guard of the Road Warrior version.
I know a lot of people have had to use the 'Fury Road' version of the shoulder guard,
just because there has been nothing else available.
Well, I'm going to remedy that situation in the fall, and make them available to those who want them.

Speaking of accuracy, I noticed a minor flaw in your belt design- a very easy error to make. My OCD won't let me ignore it...lol.
The upper 'D' rings on your belt are accurate, but the two rings on the bottom edge of the belt should be rectangle-shaped, not D-shaped. Here's a screenshot reference to confirm it:

Yeah I got to make some fine tuning to the fig

Heads up: I found this 1/6 scale Australian Blue Heeler figure for sale on Etsy.
Painted - $80.00 plus shipping, Unpainted - $50.00 plus shipping, from South Korea.
I think it looks much better (and more reasonably priced) than the other one by 'King'.

I already received mine, with VERY fast shipping- five days to the USA I think.
It needs a little work to better resemble the dog in the film, but not much.

1) Ears need to be shaved around the edges to make them a bit smaller
2) Ears need to be shaved on the back-sides to make them a bit thinner
3) Neck 'fur' needs to have a groove dug-in to accomodate the red scarf in a realistic way
4) Lower jaw (chin, actually) needs a bit more thickness in the downward direction
5) Needs male genitalia

I'm also going to do a bit of work on the lip just below the nose, and maybe give him a little more fat around the ribcage, using some epoxy putty. Other than that, I really like it. The scale is just right. Once I give it some easy mods and a really accurate paint job,
it will look fantastic standing beside Max.

Here's the link to buy it on Etsy- get them before they're gone!
As of this moment, it says "only three left" ... but maybe he will make more. (and maybe not!)
