Mad Max - Video Game 2014

So they're complaining about the game having achievements and draw distance? That doesn't sound too bad. The draw distance can be fixed, especially with a PC release.

I'm glad to hear that they like the combat system and it's a lot like the Arkham one.

They said the missions are tedious and the open world is empty, and I'm only on the first paragraph those are legit problems.

I'm shocked by Kotaku's hands on preview....oh wait, hello 2014 SAB:

Its Avalanche Studios so I assume it will be like the Just Cause games and have an awesome open world, great graphics and great game mechanics and atrocious story telling and mission content.

So far from the previews, I'm not persuaded otherwise.

This is one of my most anticipated games of the year. Although it's based on a film franchise, it's one of the few new/non sequel games being released this year. Looks fresh and fun, can't wait!

The idiots at superstore put the game out on Thursday. I could have bought it but I already have $30 down at EB Games and I won't be touching it anyways until I beat Witcher 3 so I didn't bother.

yeah i probably wont play it till i put some time into mgs5 but my wife said she'd get it for me so thats pretty cool of her.

Most of the time they will give early copies to media so that they can review the game and have reviews out early, just like with movies where they do early showings for critics.

My buddy said its pretty much what we're expecting from the game. The map is gigantic. He said the achievements are really weird though. Like some are worth 2, another is 13.

i meant by actual gaming publications. not regular folk.

i imagine if the game was fantastic they'd want those stellar reviews pouring out at this point, im guessing the game may not be that great because of that. guess we'll find out in a couple days.

I put a good few hours into it last night, it's no masterpiece but pretty damn fun.

It plays like shadow of mordor where you have to reclaim turf on the map, the hand to hand stuff is a simpler version of the arkham combat system.

Anybody else get this? Curious to hear more impressions. I guess releasing this the same day as MGSV was a bad idea.
