Playing through this now. I'm amazed it isnt more popular. It does the open world desert better than MGSV and handles vehicles far better than Arkham Knight. Great game so far and really addicting.

It is really good until you get about 30-40 hours in and then it is way too repetitive in the late game. I stopped at the last race because I realized I was going to need to grind some more for upgrades and it just wasn't worth it .

I'm about 25 in now and I see what you mean. Scrap is becoming hard to find in the quantity I need. Still tho I don't mind the grind. Almost all of the side missions are fun and can be completed without going too much out of your way. The land mines are really the only ones that bother me.

I got lucky and managed to defuse exactly the required amount for the achievement. Even though they give you extras, I lost several to driving over them or other such things. Boy did I ever get lucky.

I just started this game a week or two ago and I have really been enjoying it. I agree with others who don't get the negative feedback on this game, I even saw it listed in some article about the top 15 biggest gaming disappointments of 2015. I think the "nemesis system" from Shadow of Mordor would have worked amazingly with this game but that aside the language, locations, enemies etc...all scream Mad Max to me, the Wasteland really feels desolate yet theres still a ton to do, that's not an easy achievement to accomplish.

Yeah this is actually in my top 5 games of this year. Probably right under Bloodborne for the top two. For the first time ever I actually wish there was more cosmetic DLC for this.

Agree this was truly a fresh breath as a gamer this year for me.It was well balanced and true to source. What i didn't like about it though was the lack of alternative approaching opportunities on the enemy.Once you arrived a camp there is no sneaking past them or approach them silently from behind. The game is scripted to have the enemies automatically attacking you when you arrive at your location.Even when they don't see you coming.

My advice is progress further in the story up until you unlock more Strongholds and build the project upgrade on every stronghold that earns you scrap while the game is turned off.Helped me alot.

I actually finished all the stronghold missions last night. Should be on my way to Gas Town this weekend. Going to be a sad day when I put this game to bed.

i've finished all the stronghold, and to be honest, by the time i was going to gas town i was already out of gas, tired, sick of it just like how Mad Max would do. i no longer stop by to give water to wanderers, shoot any NPC that talks slightly negative to me, ignore loots and just waste anyone blocking my path with the shot gun & shiv. i didn't even bother with loot sites and only finished 2 races and couldn't be bothered driving that Buggy all the way out to sniff out mines. I told myself "I'm done" with this and heads out to gas town and finish the story.

the biggest pain is to collect all the enemy vehicles and drive them all the way back to the stronghold.

some of them look so similar you have to compare the vehicle with the picture just to make sure you got the right car. they could have just indicated us whether the car we took is already in the collection or not.

and most races are too easy as long as you have your shotgun ammo upgrades.

you should have enough scraps to fully upgrade max & opus as long as you don't do silly things like donating scraps to strongholds. those scrap upgrades doesn't really give much compared to 100 scraps per box during the Storms. but no harm building them, you can find out their locations for the parts when you are in the stronghold. Max's Scrap bonus + Scrap Clean Up Crew would be more useful. also you don't really need to find all the parts for each stronghold since you can fast travel all you need is 1 fully upgraded (minus scrap donation) stronghold fast travel there 2 times since you don't get full ammo (shotgun) for 1 travel.

to be honest do the main mission, camps & few sidequest focusing on camps is good enough, the racing part is so Mediocre. if they tossed in something like Borderland car death match like Mad Max 2 would be icing on cakes but MO is just too powerful with the harpoons.

Nope. Probably not going to happen either. Doesn't seem this game is as popular as it deserves to be.

lack of multiplayer probably kills it early. just look at other open world with MP modes, they last longer. you get death race but that's it.

It depends. There are games that dont really benefit from multiplayer that still work really well without it. Few and far between maybe but it happens.

I don't think the game needed multi-player. It could have done with a lot more story or at least better side quests. It was all the same.
