Got a chance to watch the season finale last night. An OK season overall, but the last few episodes really brought it. I really enjoyed Don's meeting with Ed Baxter, his scenes with Lane, and the ending to the finale. It seems he's definitely reverting back to the "Lion" that he used to be, which I for one am very happy about. Good drama is made with flawed characters that we love one second and hate the next. Can't wait for the next season!

The woman from season 4 forget her name she claimed don only likes the beginning of things so true hoping the real don returns

Faye? I loved her. She was my favorite of Don's "girlfriends"

When he told her he was engaged to Megan I felt so bad for her.

I loved Faye. That was probably my least favorite thing about the entire series to this day. It was so abrupt and out of the blue that they spent an entire season on their relationship and then in one episode Megan is the one? I didn't buy it. It felt like a contract write off or something.

I just finished up the rest of Season 5, and, I must say, I was heartbroken to see Lane go. I have a feeling that's going to cause quite a bit of internal conflict with Don this season.

I can watch a horror movie, and not bat an eye. But Lane hanging there... ugh. I almost literally felt sick. It was fantastic makeup, not glamorizing what he would look like by that point. Hanging is a way of going out that has always seemed so tough to do, even as suicides go. Of course, looking at my avatar as one of my favorite subjects, it pops up in a lot of things I read and watch.

But what really made it such a punch in the gut was that you "knew" Lane. He wasn't some movie character you knew for an hour who got his head chopped off. He was Lane. He was awesome.

While I think the show has fantastic writing, Lane's demise never sat right with me. His whole "I need money" thing, sure, I get that. But by that point, he was cool with Don and Roger - he could have asked for an advance. Writing like that just feels a bit forced, trying to drive the story.

That's a small complaint, though. Lane's death, not just his death but seeing him like that, was one of the most powerful TV moments in a while.

Definitely. As someone who lost a family member in a similar way, it made it all the more gutwrenching. By episode's end, I was one ther verge of tears.

The girl who plays Sally is definitely one of the best child actors going. It's one of the rare times where a child's plot doesn't make me go, okay movie it along.

On the other hand, Glen can go to hell. I don't care if he is the showrunner's son, his creepy character needs to get hit by a meteor.
