So it seems Epstein is heading for the Cubs. Right now I'm glad he's leaving. I don't think I would have said the same thing a few years ago, but he's made some really ____ty deals since winning the '07 WS.

He has a year left on his contract. It would be interesting to know what type of compensation the Sox would require from the Cubs.

There have been about 5,000 short stops for Boston since '96, many of them have been horrid deals from what I recall.

Yeah, I was very worried about a possibility for a sweep. I still think Texas in 6.

I don't know. That Nomar guy was pretty decent from '97-'03. Cabrera was okay, Renteria was terrible, Lugo was bad, Alex Gonzalez was serviceable, and Scutaro was overpaid.

It seems like they want to push José Iglesias as the SS of the future starting next year.

Thats awesome. How hard were they to get? It was SOOOO freaking hard to get tickets for the Rockies WS in 07. It was easy to get tickets for the DS and CS.

You have to figure that the Cubs will be chasing Pujols and Fielder hard if they are going to pay so much to Epstein. They should build a voidable in his contract if he doesn't get 1.
