My thoughts on "beast mode" -

Baseball is a game and games are supposed to be fun. I see the Brewers as the scrappy everyman having a good time while the Cards are the high and mighty keepers of how things were and how things should be (i.e.: Yankee wannabes).

If the pompous "keepers of all that is holy in baseball" get a little annoyed by this display of emotion and team camaraderie, then all the better, imo.

If every player was an emotionless robot while they played the game, then it wouldn't really matter who was playing.

I guess I prefer professionals who show professionalism than a bunch of nobodies acting like little children. You can have fun and show professionalism at the same time look at the other teams in the playoffs besides the brewers. Man, I really hope we go in and win game 6. That way the brewers and their new school fans can go back to drinking beer the one thing they are good at. :lol

Edit: Next to the Yankees the Cards are the most historic team in baseball history. I expect fans of teams like the Brewers to not understand that. I mean you're fans of the Brewers so I get why you don't understand respecting how things should be and how the game should be played.

The "beast mode" thing reminds me too much of some crap you would see in the NBA, show boating.

I see you edited the over the top "trashy fans" comment. I think if you look close enough, every team has some of those fans Josh, even your Cardinals. :wink1:

As far as this Twins fan is concerned, I'd like to see the Brewers in the World Series because I want someone new representing the National League.

I can't figure out of if you're just taking potshots because we support rival teams or if you actually believe that...

Milwaukee is a great baseball town. I mean, there is a ton more history here than just the brewers of 1970-today. I guess all you see are the drunk college fans, and the "beast mode" thing and the young players perpetuate that image, but you can't tell me that the city where Hank Aaron regularly swung his bat doesn't understand respecting the game and how it should be played.

So when people tell me Milwaukee doesn't understand, respect, or care about baseball, I just remember 755 was hit by a Brewer and a Milwaukee hero.

Championships are the barometer for what makes a great team, not a great baseball town. Now that the Brewers are owned by a group who cares about the team and wants to see it succeed, Milwaukee is going to be making a force to be reckoned with for some time.

I believe what I said 110%. I really dont consider Milwaukee a rival to be honest. This is really the first time in nearly 30 years the brewers have been anything worth a darn. The Cubs are the Cardinals rival in the central

No, I don't think they do. I think thats been lost because of how bad they've been over the last 30 years and even more so as we get this new age of fans there. The brillance of Hank Aaron and how hey played would be lost on the beast mode crowd.

No worries St. Louis is a great baseball town. I love making trips there though its been a while since my list visit. I don't see them being much of a threat. You've got Braun and thats it after Fielder leaves during free agency. Grienke has shown you what I already knew of him in KC. Nobody else on that team is worth a darn.

Edit: I guess what wears on me is what I see or take as shots at Cardinal fans or the team because we don't think "beast mode" fans or actions by the Brewers or anyone is alright. I'm sorry we're old school but baseball is a game of traditions and I love/respect those.

Then why are you letting the "beast mode" and Milwaukee fans get to you?

From a logic standpoint, how could the Cubs be your rivals when the Cards have beaten them down for decades? The Cubs haven't won anything in over 100 years. Some of your statement are illogical.

Because I'm old school. I like guys that act like they've been there done that. I don't mean going crazy when you win your division, league, or series. Like in football I love guys like Jerry Rice or Barry Sanders that acted like they'd done that before.

The cubs have been pretty decent in the regular season off and on the last 30 years. Plus there is just a long history with them being our rival going back before I was born.

Wow. Getting all upset at beast mode? Meanwhile you have one of the biggest tools and a- holes in baseball in Yadi Molina.

The beast mode is not meant to be anymore insulting than Pujols or anyone else pointing to the sky when he gets a bloop single.

Getting overly upset at it is lame because its harmless. They aren't doing it to showboat. They get hyped by it, let them.

Not getting overly upset. :dunno Molina is fine. I'm glad we have him and so would any team.

Pointing to the sky and thanking god IMO is not even close but to each his own.

Call having a problem with lame if you want. I'm old school in how I think players should act.

Yeah we know, you only said it 10 times in your last 4 posts. :nana:
Having an ahole player on your team makes him "fine" but you have a problem with beast mode because your team isn't doing then thats your problem right there. :rotfl

My team doesn't need to do a beast mode. Hopefully after tomorrow nobody will have to see it and fielder can take it to Chicago where he most likely ends up at.

It's ok. I look at it like the rally monkey something the pr department uses to hype the fans. The players don't seem to do much with it during games as they should.

Okay........what is this "beast mode" thing? I haven't been watching the Brewers.

The "beast mode thing" is something Brewers players came up with to show they're unhappy with not winning a single championship in the team's existence.

They wave their arms around and put on angry faces to scare the baseball gods into giving them their first WS title.
