I wonder what they're going to do with the closing pitcher position.

Joba!!!:lol

That's a good question. It's an unenvious position to take. You're not replacing some random closer, but the greatest closer in baseball history.

You know, I never understood this statement. Doesn't every team try to buy a championship? Grandy going to the Mets, aren't they trying to buy a ring? Cano to the Mariners, they are trying to buy a ring.

Yes, but other teams don't have the nearly unlimited resources the Yankees have. Looking into the future at 2016 for example the Yanks already have $122 million tied to 6 players. More than half the league won't approach that for their entire team.

Any thoughts on the HOF vote? I see no problems with the 3 elected. All were deserving.

-I may be alone in this, but I belive guys like Bonds and Clemens:)yuck) should be in. They were HOFers before they become fans of pharmaceuticals.

-Craig Biggio is the epitome of a guy that I don't think belongs. He played a long time and compiled numbers that the HOF likes, but he just doesn't pass the eye test for me. At no time was he the best players in MLB or even considered the top at his position. Despite this I think he gets in next year.

-Rafael Palmeiro....:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:

-Next year I think we're looking at Pedro, Randy Johnson, and Biggio. I also see Nomar is eligible and it just makes me wonder again what he could have been without the wrist injuries. He was just never the same.:(

I have no problems with the three that got in. I think Biggio belongs. He was one of the top players at his position for years. Another player I want to see get in someday via some new way is Frank White who played for KC. IMO he should get in on his Defense alone.

Here's hoping he finds the same level of success in pinstripes as Kei Igawa.:)

That's a lot of money for someone I've heard described as somewhere between a Matsuzaka and a Darvish in how he would do in MLB.

Michael Young retiring as a Texas Ranger today...probably one of the top 3 most popular players in franchise history and an absolute joy to watch.
