Re: Making of HT Berserker Predator

Thenammagazine i have avoided this forum for a long time. That was because i think these kind of debates are completely tiresome, wether i was wrong or right. Ego's always get in the way.

Yet i always get myself in these kind of debates and i'm basically declaring that i don't have the energy or will to breath further life into them.

I will just read this forum (from time to time) from now on, i'm to devoid of energy to even continue trivial matters like debates on a collector's board.

You are entitled to ridicule this post but i am to depressed to respond anyway.

Sucks. Never understood how people get so serious and take forum posting to heart. Just the way you describe posting like it takes effort and energy is weird to me.

From the outside looking in, most people think I'm serious and really getting heated with certain topics and certain members when the reality is I'm usually posting in between talking/watching TV with my wife and kid or listening to music/making funny pics, sigs, etc.

Which I'm sure is weird to other people. :D

But yeah, there's ZERO emotional attachment for me when I post something on here or on the internet. And that's because I find ALL of this stuff trivial (like you said about forum debates). In the scheme of things it's all irrelevant. So who cares!? Why get upset? Why make this feel like work? If you post and someone disagrees.. fine. Who cares?

I don’t know what to say, really. Three minutes till the biggest battle of our professional lives all comes down to today. Now either we heal as a team or we’re gonna crumble, inch by inch, play by play, 'til we’re finished.

We’re in hell right now, gentlemen, believe me. And, we can stay here -- get the ____ kicked out of us -- or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell one inch at a time.

Now, I can’t do it for you. I’m too old. I look around. I see these young faces, and I think -- I mean -- I made every wrong choice a middle-aged man can make. I, uh, I pissed away all my money, believe it or not. I chased off anyone who’s ever loved me. And lately, I can’t even stand the face I see in the mirror.

You know, when you get old in life things get taken from you. I mean that's...part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out life’s this game of inches. So is football. Because in either game, life or football, the margin for error is so small -- I mean one-half a step too late, or too early, and you don’t quite make it. One-half second too slow, too fast, you don’t quite catch it.

The inches we need are everywhere around us.

They’re in every break of the game, every minute, every second.

On this team, we fight for that inch. On this team, we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch, because we know when we add up all those inches that’s gonna make the ____in' difference between winning and losing! Between livin' and dyin'!

I’ll tell you this: In any fight, it’s the guy who’s willing to die who’s gonna win that inch. And I know if I’m gonna have any life anymore, it’s because I’m still willin' to fight and die for that inch. Because that’s what livin' is! The six inches in front of your face!!

Now I can’t make you do it. You got to look at the guy next to you. Look into his eyes! Now I think you’re gonna see a guy who will go that inch with you. You're gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team because he knows, when it comes down to it, you’re gonna do the same for him!

That’s a team, gentleman!

And, either we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals.

That’s football guys.

That's all it is.

Now, what are you gonna do?

Re: Making of HT Berserker Predator

:lol

Seriously though, I was being 100% honest with the part I actually wrote. It's just once I was done it reminded me of a pep talk or something so I threw in the Pacino bit. :D

Re: Making of HT Berserker Predator

Nice post Devil. I started reading and thinking, dang this sounds like Pacino... Great movie btw!

Re: Making of HT Berserker Predator

Probly going to be one of the nicest Hot Toys predators! if it looks like the prototype..

Nicest looking, yes, but it's really disappointing that they opted to sacrifice some articulation! I'll still be getting this and the other subsequent Preds in this line, though.

True True, maybe it is due to the fact that we don't need to assemble them anymore..I could be saying none sense but doesnt the classic P1 have less articulation than like AVP's or Elder P2? I only have Wolf and P2 Elder so I wouldnt know..

Is a pity that the proportions of the head of the model does not match the film. Are too different! But if the predator in the movie was like that of HT would have been more beautiful.

I'm sorry but Hot Toys need to fire the artist that sculpted this if that is the best they can do. I thought the figure lookedd good till i saw this. :(

Re: Making of HT Berserker Predator

Yeah it still looks great but holy crap that is way off, I didn't see Predators so I thought the figure looked like the Predator on screen >_>

Wow....did not know they were that off.

Re: Making of HT Berserker Predator

Those mandibles arent the ones they will be using on the final one... the pics with the larger mandibles are the ones that we'll see, the plastic enemies pics. The pic of just the head is what, from my understanding, is the one we will get. the other 2 with small mandibles are for comparison

Like I keep saying, it's artistically beautiful but in terms of accuracy it has to be one of their worst. For the $185 they want for this hardly-poseable, accessory-less figure, the likeness ought to be perfect.

I'm speculating that the HT head is a compromise for functionality (ironic, I know). If they made that screaming head, the biomask wouldn't fit, unless they make the mask's snout longer. It's not just the mandibles (which, as griffclinton pointed out, will be made longer for the final production). Look at the inner mouth, it's jutting out. In human anatomy, it's more like our jaws wide open with the lower jaw slightly forward. The rest of the details of the head follow the screaming pattern, such as the more slanted look.

The only way to have a screen-accurate screaming Mr. Black is to give us a separate sculpted head. While I'd like that, it's highly unlikely.

We could think of the current head sculpt with open mandibles as having a different expression. More of like talking loudly, but not to the point of screaming at the top of his lungs. And I'd rather have a compromise so that we'd get one head that can do (mostly) all instead of having two head sculpts and jacked-up price. Well, at least for Predators. I still want (even DEMAND) two head sculpts for human-based figures.

I agree. I love the figure as is but I prefer accuracy and the head just isn't accurate nor is the bio. Both need to be bigger. Even with the improved wider mandibles, they still only look about 95% accurate if that.

nope same articulation the body is practically the same with some minor sculpt changes (it is shorter as well)
