MAN OF STEEL: General ZOD 1/6 Icon Statue

Just deboxed Krypton Zod and first impression: HOLY CRAP.

In a good way.

My friends, Krypton Zod is a WIN. This statue is exceptionally well-painted, for something from the factory. I foresaw myself having to fix a ton of fiddly little bits on him, NOPE! I will add just a little detail to the eyes/eyebrow area, to fix that staring deer-in-the-headlights look most factory painted things have. I might also add a thin black wash to some areas of his armor, to make the detail pop. The painting is great, but there's little if any shading.

Most of the pictures you are seeing - of any of these statues - make them look very washed-out, because flash is obliterating the details. The sculpting and likeness is THERE, its just not real visible in pix. I am attaching a pic to try and make this more evident.

One thing about no shading is, it makes the character look very young. Zod is a guy in the prime of life, he's no kid. When you have him in-hand, he looks much better than pix make him look.

YES he is wearing a Game-of-Thrones cape, as he was in the movie, and yes the fur cape is wired. I am of mixed feelings about this, but for now will make use of it. In the novelization we are told that Krypton is a much colder, more environmentally hostile planet than ours is, hence the capes. [I guess]. Since a red sun would be much cooler than ours, this makes sense.

Delighted to add this awesome alien warrior to my little collection! Unfortunately his arrival means Arkham City Harley Quinn gets booted down to a lower shelf. Sorry, sweetie.

I now want Faora so badly I CAN HARDLY STAND IT!

BUUUUUUUUUUT.......... what if HT never releases a Zod? Then this statue will be long sold out, and you'll miss out on having a Zod on your shelves completely.

That's what has me scared. If HT releases Zod, I will probably buy that one too, and just display him in another part of the house than Iconic Zod. We just have zero indication that HT has any such thing in mind though.

Not to mention I cant even imagine what HT Zod is going to list for. I hate having to juggle all this stuff in my head when trying to decide to order, or not.

Yes these are my EXACT fears as well! I'm constantly juggling weather to buy these on the chance HT doesn't make them or not and just wait in hopes for the HT. I will have to sit on it a bit longer

Right now, a cell phone camera which is usually quite good. But I have trouble holding it steady enough for macro shots.

THIS STATUE IS BEAUTIFUL!!! She is actually even better than Zod! I want to jump up and down in glee at how beautiful she is. These statues kick major @ss when you consider they are mass produced. I even love the wired cape, her cape looks exactly like it did in the movie.

Grab this beauty while you can! Most badass female paranormal ever, I loves her lots. <3

I was aware before of this one being great, after buying it for my Brother last week.
But your enthusiasm is infectious. I just ordered myself one. I shall give Faora a shelf of her own in the Detolf.

My husband had the sheer nerve to say this Faora statue looked like a man. I nearly beaned him with the base. Actually if I were going to do that, I would have used the Zod statue - because that thing seriously weighs five pounds.

There is nothing the least bit masculine about that statue. its gorgeous.

She does have a very prominent nose(But that's an accurate sculpt).
I think the reason she might be considered masculine is the armour and short hair.
I wouldn't take that as a negative. She's a kick a55 lady. I think the paint on the eyes could be a lot better. They need to use printed decals like Hot Toys do. I'm not picking holes. This statue is beautiful.
And it is resin, so it's possible to take it apart and custom the parts.
If HT don't make Faora(And i'm not panicking. I reckon they will), i will have no qualms chopping this one up and making a poseable figure from the parts.
