Re: The Man of Steel

They better not try to slip another Barney Ross body past us like they're trying with Bane :lol

I was discussing that with my friend today. The Bane body is so off, it's unexcusable to me. The body on Cavill's Supe is very different from things available.

Re: The Man of Steel

Cavill himself wore a muscle suit as part of his Kryptonian uniform/costume. I'd think Hot Toys should incorporate something similar... make the musculature part of the costume.

Equally inexcusable to me. If they don't change it i'll have to find a way to customize the body appropriately.

Re: The Man of Steel

Sideshow does indeed have the specific MAN OF STEEL license. I imagine they'll at least be making a PF, if not more.

Sweet! I wasn't a big fan of the suit at first, but after seeing the pics of the suit in that glass case at sdcc, I've changed my mind.

Re: The Man of Steel

The teaser (Crowe voice over) is one of the coolest teasers I've ever seen, it gives me goosebumps. I have not seen the SDCC footage, though. Unbelievably pumped for this movie, mission accomplished

Re: The Man of Steel

I think this movie can be as good as Begins, which would be amazing and much needed for this character. I just hope DC will be able to keep the quality high for the upcoming films. Also if this movie does well, I hope Snyder does more for DC, like The Flash movie. I also want Nolan to stay involved with DC. :pray

Also even though Supe's suit is a muscle suit, Henry is crazy ripped. Maybe they can do the body like Keaton Bats, but articulation would suffer.

Re: The Man of Steel

I really hope this is Nolan's new pet project. I mean who wouldn't want to be know for successfully reinvigorating not only the Batman franchise but the Superman one also.

I haven't seen Green Lantern yet, but I hope they reboot it because I effing hate Ryan Reynolds. They should keep those suits though..they were epic.

Other than pre-production he's pretty much taken a back seat, so far. He was busy with TDKR during the entire MAN OF STEEL shoot. As far as I know he may have visited the set once when the production was briefly in L.A. but that's it. He might get pretty involved with post-production and editing, but this is Zack's movie.

Though, I'm pretty sure that if the film is well-received people are going to give Nolan the credit whereas if it's not Zack will be the easy fall-guy. Which he should be, it's pretty much his baby (except he was saddled with a pretty crap script at first) but I doubt he'll get the big accolades if the finished film plays well. People will say it's Nolan. We're already prepared for this.

There is a reason the trailer says "from the director of 300 and Watchmen". Rather than "from the director of That Animated Owl Movie and Suckerpunch."

If the film does well, I am sure Nolan will get a lot of credit. IMO Zack Snyder is a hit or a miss with his films, so I could understand Nolan getting credit for this movie if it is good. He could definitely be a presence in post-production editing and with Hans Zimmer doing the music, it may even feel like a Nolan film. David Goyer would get some credit as well, he wrote great stories for the Batman films and wrote the new Superman.

Re: The Man of Steel

Yeah Nolan's name carries a lot of weight - Snyder's doesn't so much, people know of his flicks but I guess they don't get the serious film-maker vibe from him.

Which is completely understandable.

Yeah, and the main reason is that 300 and Watchmen were also comic book movies from Legendary.

This is precisely the mindset I'm talking about.

BTW, Goyer's initial draft of MAN OF STEEL sucked hard. He still has sole screenplay credit, but it's absolutely been reworked... and by more than just him. The movie almost didn't get greenlit because of how bad that first draft was. And that was a draft that was approved by Nolan. So he's not infallible, either.
