Re: The Man of Steel

If I had Superman's powers and I grew up in a relatively normal household with great parents (Ma and Pa Kent are like the ideal parental figures), I don't think I'd be complaining about anything.

:lol

Not when I could look through walls and clothes, be the strongest person on the planet, practically be invincible and FLY anywhere I wanted.

Nothing there to really get depressed about. The only thing that would be a concern is the loss of my loved ones and those around me, but that's the case with EVERYONE.

Superman is what every child and man dreams they could be. An Übermensch, a superman, the ideal person. He's fantasy come to life.

I just hope they don't make him "dark" and grapple with self discovery problems and issues. Hopefully the whole movie isn't about him trying to grasp what it means to be a hero and if he should even be Superman, instead of, you know just letting the character be the character. There should be that initial doubt when Supes finds out "oh ****, I'm from another planet" but other than that, the threat against Earth or Metropolis or whatever should be his primary concern in this film. I'm just really hoping there's not angst and some typical Greek epic/tragedy bull****.

He should be the perfect example of a cut and dry superhero. He's arguably the least complex of all the hero's out there, which is hardly a bad thing.

10 years of Smallville showed me plenty of things young Kent could be complaining about :rotfl

On another note, speaking to a friend of mine right now who's working with Hans Zimmer on the soundtrack. He just told me he has a cut of the movie at work, and he's deciding whether to watch it now or wait till it's DONE done.

Bastard.

Re: The Man of Steel

I think CR is fantastic, definitely makes you believe in the character. But the rest of the film around him just hasn't aged very well IMO

I always thought the Donner films were overrated. So no surprise I didn't like SR.

:slap:horror

Honestly, if you've ever been to Kansas you'd understand why he went as far as he could go in the US away from there. :lol

It's a good hiding spot. Nobody cares about Kansas. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

Hmmm

I wonder if Zod will kick Superman's ass in the sewers of Metropolis because Superman is weak from fishing too much and then Superman is incarcerated with a bunch of hobo phantom zone prisoners and kryptonite but then escapes by climbing out and returns to defeat Zod and his gal pal's ass before Zod can detonate a nuclear device.
