Re: The Man of Steel

You never answered my question about Indiana Jones, who is responsible for giving us Indiana Jones? Steven Speilberg and George Lucas. Lucas is given story credit and he produced it. Without Lucas, Indy wouldn't even exist. Same thing can be seen with the production of MoS. Nolan is fulfilling that same role as story writer and producer. And if you knew anything about films, producers play a very important role in movie making. Without them, movies wouldn't be made. Sometimes producers fund a movie and let the writer and director have at it. Other times, they lay a framework for the writer and director to follow. They're given creative control, yes. But it must fit the framework. I see MoS as happening this way. And I think Snyder is doing nothing to defy Nolan's vision of this thing. He wouldn't have signed onto a movie that was 95% talking and 5% fighting with a Superman that has no powers. This is Superman. Christopher Nolan's Superman. Deal with it.

This guy speaks gospel.

I think Nova is taking a break from self abuse and porn to argue semantics.

Wrong, If producer is such a big massive role why doesn't anyone talk about the contributions of Lorne Orleans, Charles Roven, Emma Thomas for the Dark Knight Trilogy? Why is the director credited for that almost 100% but the roles reversed for MOS?

And if you are right that this is the vision of the producers and the director isn't the key force behind the result of the film then this would be Jon Peters, Lloyd Phillips, Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Deborah Snyder and Emma Thomas' Superman

I think Nova is taking a break from self abuse and porn to argue semantics.

Nova wants people to recognize Zack Snyder's role as director for this like they recognize Nolan's role as director for his movies.

No double standards, no twisting of roles for the sake of Nolan fanboyism. just recognize the man officially in charge

Re: The Man of Steel

I'll recognize both Snyder and Nolan. Snyder probably did the main body of the work, but I'm sure he was heavily advised by Nolan.

Re: The Man of Steel

reports and rumours mean nothing

Before Snyder was attached, what name was attached to this? Nolan's. Goyer and The Nolan's were collaborating for TDKR together in the garage like they did for the other movies when they got to discussing other things. Superman came up. Nolan expressed how he would do a Superman movie and Goyer got all fanboy excited and ran with it.

Reminds me of George and Steven on the beach building a sand castle talking about their latest projects and what they'd like to do for the future. Steven wanted to do a Bond but couldn't because he was an American and not British and that wasn't allowed so George told him about an idea he had that was "better than Bond" and voila, everybody's favorite globe trotting archeologist was born.

Without Nolan, MoS would not be happening. Without Lucas, Indy would have never happened....

Re: The Man of Steel

I supplied a source that specifically stated Nolan was overseeing Snyder. So I'm moving on from a senseless, baseless argument over someone who is just looking for a reason to argue.

Re: The Man of Steel

For me:

If the film is a home run then everyone deserves credit.

If the film looks spectacular and has great performances and well executed action sequences but the story/characterization/plot stinks then Goyer/Nolan are to blame not Snyder

If the opposite happens i.e. the story/characterization/plot/premise is great but the execution is poor, then Snyder will be to blame.

Re: The Man of Steel

I'll give Snyder credit for however the film turns out. I don't credit the Salkinds for the Donner/Reeve films.

:exactly:

Why should this production be viewed any different from any other, why should a producer not the director be the topic of whose film it is.

:lol you supplied a report from an un affilliated website, i supplied offical credits.

That's exactly how it should be

I have an IMDB page on myself that isn't accurate.

So your point is moot.

:goodpost:

Here's another, Nova. Who gave us "The Nightmare Before Christmas?" I couldn't even tell you the DIRECTOR'S name because the PRODUCER/WRITER gets all the credit....

Someone from London who has a respectable point of view. Good post my friend.

My friend you and I are on target. He/she/it/whatever is splitting hairs and is completely baseless.

We are feeding into his need of attention. We can discuss the finer points here without him.

Amy Adams from the trailer? Hot! Best I've ever seen her... she looks better with a fuller figure.

Re: The Man of Steel

Without NOLAN there wouldn't be a Man of Steel.

End of discussion.
