Re: The Man of Steel

Superman was gonna get made regardless. Man of Steel, Faster then a Speeding Train, It's a Bird, Plane, SUPAH MANG...Superman would've gotten made.

Yes. Because you want use semetics, this version wouldn't exist. But none of thus have seen it, this version could be terrible.

In a board view, this movie would've gotten made in some form. :lol

Re: The Man of Steel

i hope they dont make this movie too dark, superman is not batman. He's always a good character out in the open, they can make it serious but i hope nolan doesnt try to apply the same batman formula to it, that's way too much.

This version could be terrible, sure. But what's your point?

It's not semantics, it's fact, this version wouldn't have been made without Nolan. :lol

Left the thread because of Nolan argument. Came back to see if it was over. Nope still going.

Re: The Man of Steel

Nolan is an eternal entity. He will never sleep. He will never eat. He will never stop.

You still don't get it, do you!? He'll find her! That's what he does! It's all he does! You can't stop him! He'll wade through you, reach down her throat, and pull her f-cking heart out!!

Re: The Man of Steel

Nova perpetuated the Nolan discussion by trying to dismiss his involvement in this. Everyone fell into the trap of trying to explain the obvious to him when he chose to not read the facts. Let's all move on now. I think Shannon will redefine this role and make it his own. Just like Ledger did with Joker. He didn't copy Jack. He did his own thing with it and made it awesome.

....see what I did there?

Seriously, no one should copy anyone else's performance in a reboot or a remake. They should make it their own role. Or else what is the point? I know nothing of Superman outside of the George Reeves show and a handful of scenes of the CR movies. I'm not really into Superman. I think he's pretty boring. How do I relate to the guy? I can't. But this trailer looks intriguing enough to at least rent it. I don't think I'll have trouble seeing Zod as he is in this instead of comparing him to Chancellor Val--err, Terrence Samp.

Brandon Routh? :lol

Brandon Routh? :lol

Never bothered with it, but isn't that supposed to be in the same continuity as the CR films with the third and fourth ones having been retconned? Not saying that necessarily justifies it, but it makes more sense to me. If you make a role your own, no one can compare you to the original. They can, but it'll just be personal preference and opinion. Look at what happened to Lazenby as Bond. Didn't he try to copy Connery? Moore didn't. I hate Moore's Bond roles but I give him credit for being different.

OF COURSE Nolan is going to toe the line and say it's Snyder's film- and it is. If it flops that way Nolan can lay the blame at Snyder's feet.

Then again we aren't on set, we aren't Nolan or Snyder so all we are doing is speculating at this point.

Not me.

The notion that Nolan is truly guiding this film is unadulterated balderdash. He guided the development of the script, agreed to bring Zack on board, and basically forced the hire of Hans Zimmer (his biggest creative contribution since pre-production). But this is Zack's film ultimately.

And you can take that from someone who actually spent more time on location on this movie than Nolan did. Hell, he was working on TDKR almost all of that time.
