Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

True! here are the list of Marvel movies:

The Good:
- X-MEN
- X2
- Spiderman #1
- Hulk 2
- Iron Man
- Blade

The Bad:
- Fantastic Four #1
- Fantastic Four #2
- Daredevil (i liked this one, but i have to admit it belongs here)
- X-MEN 3 (after watching 1 and 2 this one looks weird, its just me)
- The Punisher
- The Hulk (i liked this one but the end sucks!)
- Blade #2
- Blade #3

The Ugly:
- Spiderman #2
- Spiderman #3
- Wolverine (this is the worst one and is getting a sequel)
- Ghost Rider
- The Punisher #2
- Elektra (ha!)

Sorry Spider-Man 2 filed under "Ugly"... Seriously? It was on par with the first... And in some action scenes better that it. I kinda of felt like I was watching the Power Rangers with the Goblin/Spider-Man fights... no facial emotion.

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

Well, then that means that there won't be a Justice League movie. Which is okay by me. And I hope Nolan will hand pick Supe's director. I figure a good director like Nolan will know what qualities will be needed to make a good Supes movie.

It doesn't mean that there won't be but just that don't expect cross-pollenation like Marvel films with their tentpoles. It should be interesting to see with Green Lantern moving ahead seeming to remove the cameos if DC will go against the Marvel mold instead of copying it like once thought.

Nolan says is not going to be in the same universe, thats what he says when he is finished with all of the movies then the studio will do whatever they want with the characters but i know is going to be hard to get Bale to do a JLA movie.:whip

Re: It's OFFICIAL: Team Nolan Prepping Superman Reboot and Batman 3

Good to know Superman won't be distracting him from directing Batman 3. While I hope Supes does well, I'd rather him focus on and finish his excellent Batman trilogy before.

Re: It's OFFICIAL: Team Nolan Prepping Superman Reboot and Batman 3

Not psyched at all about him directing a Superman reboot. :monkey4

And for some reason, I'm getting bad vibes about Batman 3. It feels destined to be bad for some reason.

Re: It's OFFICIAL: Team Nolan Prepping Superman Reboot and Batman 3

He is not directing it... Just acting as a producer with creative input.

I just hope Catwoman is in it. She needs redeemed :lol

In the words of Batman.

You're alone.
:peace

Just the way I feel. I hope I'm wrong. And I most certainly don't want it to end after 3 Batman films, it's just not Batman's style to end after 3, which is why I am getting bad vibes about it. And I don't want Batman 3 to be about him returning to Gotham like 5 years later...

:yuck :peace

Re: It's OFFICIAL: Team Nolan Prepping Superman Reboot and Batman 3

Hmm...I'm a little worried too. I both love and hate the idea that he is wrapping it all up with the third movie. On the one hand, Nolan gets to close the incredible story that he started, but how is he going to close it? Is some other director going to take the story later on and just crap on the franchise until they have to reboot it again? I am excited to see his take on Superman!

Re: It's OFFICIAL: Team Nolan Prepping Superman Reboot and Batman 3

I think a person being good at something also knows when the best has been achieved and you can't go any further. Batman Begins was great reboot. The Dark Knight was Epic so the third installation really has a lot to live upto already. Trying to plan to beat even that with another sequel just seems too difficult.
Taking on another story alltogether just presents a much higher chance of repeatable success. I will really miss the Dark Knight for sure but then it's like looking forward to another Steven Spielberg film in the 80s

Agreed! And well said!

Re: It's OFFICIAL: Team Nolan Prepping Superman Reboot and Batman 3

I agree with Geil. There really isn't much that can be done in this industry to keep the standards as high as Nolan has set with his take on Batman. I think we're better off with another reboot after the third film than with different people trying to milk the cow some more and ending up ruining the great story Nolan and his crew came up with.
It's obviously not impossible for a franchise to survive after any given number of installments. Unfortunately history tells us that most -if not all - attempts have failed miserably.

No need to hope, you will be wrong. And I doubt it ends with the end of Batman, he will continue on.

Re: The Man of Steel/Nolan's Superman

Superhero movie franchises are treated like Windows machines. Apparently, they're always in need of a reboot.

I would love to see Zack Snyder tackle DKR after Nolan finishes his Bat-trilogy of brilliance.
