Re: The Man of Steel

I didn't know this, but it makes me feel better that we will see Clark in glasses and working at the Daily Planet. Clark's job and disguise are as big a part of the Superman character as the S shield and cape to me.

I think they are going to pull the disguise part like how it was handled in Superman: Earth One. He doesn't get the job, and start wearing the glasses until the end. When he has decided to be Superman, but needs to hide Clark a little more. I only say this because the teaser we got for Zod, reminded me of Tyrell's speech from that comic.

Re: The Man of Steel

I get that, I'm just saying it's always exactly the same, Krypton's destruction, crash landing, boy discovers powers, spaceship in barn, I don't want an hour of that and a kid. I want to get right into Cavill's character and his whole finding Nemo fisherman who am I thing, not some random other kid playing young Clark on and on, ya know?

Like I said, BB style - Cavill Clark interspersed with flashbacks of his childhood. Non-linear structure. That's my guess.

I believe he's a hedge fund manager for Daily Planet holdings LLC.

Re: The Man of Steel

I like the theme o Lois being an investigative journalist, tracking the "mystery saviour man" for years.

Is this idea taken from some particular graphic novel, or was Lois always nothing more than "Superman's girlfriend" in the comics?

Re: The Man of Steel

I dont recall her doing that sort of thing in any comics but she has been more than just 'Superman's girlfriend.' for as long as I've been reading Supes. I agree that an investigative journalist tracking a mystery man who does unbelievable things is an interesting way of changing the character slightly. And it follows that all her colleagues will be like 'Oh Lois you're crazy this guy doesnt exist' etc etc.

Re: The Man of Steel

I didn't mean that as a slam on the character. Simply being a Superman Noob, I just assumed that she was always presented as Superman's girlfriend who falls for him after they met. The idea of her being fascinated with him for years and tracking him, I think it shows a chance of giving more weight to their relationship, as opposed to the standard "girl falls for a guy with superpowers she just met" scenario that we saw in so many superhero films.

Re: The Man of Steel

IMO the Lois character has always been someone who has grounded him, along with the Kents. Someone he has a true emotional connection with that really brings out his human side. Plus shes a top notch reporter so i like what there doing thus far. Being a major fan of what Erica Durance did in SV im excited to see what Amy Adams does with the character!

This movie is looking amazing, the trailer got alot of people hype and hopefully the film holds up!
