Re: The Man of Steel

So at present there are no other announcements for any DC comic movies. Although I read somewhere that DC will be giving some info at this years comic con I think it will be at least 2 years before we see any other DC movies considering that the average time it takes to make one from start to finish.

Which I think is shame because in the mean time Fox and Marvel will be producing and at least one movie a year in the case of Fox and two movies a year in the case of Marvel.

I think DC as finally figured out a formula to bring other properties to live and hopefully they can spread it other licenses

I believe they're waiting to see how Man of Steel does, and will probably start producing more movies based around how well it does and how well received it is, most likely using it as a basis for a cinematic universe. Hopefully they'll get the ball rolling soon after on some more movies though, would love to see a Green Arrow movie, a good Green Lantern, Swamp Thing, a new Batman, and Del Toro's apparent Justice League Dark movie. :rock so much potential in DC movies if they get it right.

I'm butt hurt, yet you're in hear making little douchey trolling attempts at Prometheus for no apparent reason?

What, did you want me to write an entire essay in response to your little picture? :dunno

I get it. Prometheus isn't the only film to feature the gas/pilot mask design. Who gives a ****. Grow up.

Re: The Man of Steel

Can you say how good the likenesses are on the figures? To keep it on the down-low, if they're spot-on, use the :wink1: smiley. If they're not that great, use the  smiley.

Yeah I am hoping that they can use Man of Steel a launching platform and not have it be another false start. It kind of boggles the mind how they could with all the talent the have and put in all this effort to prepare a movies from preproduction to shooting to final reveal that the movie can still flop. I understand that their are risks, but still certain movies have an established formula that sells and it should be no different for Comic Book Movies.

I hope that now the can see their is a potential for these movies both financial and critically and that they take the genre seriously and give it its due justice. There should be no reason that other comic book movies if given the proper time and money to develop could deliver if not great and least good movies.

Movies like Ghost Rider, Punisher, Green Lantern , Daredevil , Johna Hexx , Blade 2 & 3 and so on all could have been great movies had they been given the opportunity to shine.

And in a way flops like Green Lantern are a good thing as they will make the studios think twice and realize that the can not produce sub par movies and encase them in CGI to try cover up their shortcomings. Audiences have come to expect a certain level of good CGI so those nolonger have the same appeal as they did before.

Hey now don't include Blade 2 in that group of ****. It may not be a rock solid toilet plugging spectacle bit its definitely better then the diarrhea you included it with in that list. Were talking severe bean, cheese & greesy meat diarrhea--- major discomfort. Blade 2 is a clean wipe smooth pipe cleaning mother load in comparison.

Also ALIEN was not an inspiration for anything in Prometheus, its fans just can't get over it :lol

:lol I wonder what the inspiration for Prometheus WAS? Can't be money, I'm sure Ridley has plenty. Maybe just trying to get some sort of popularity and credibility back.

Yeah, I still haven't seen green lantern, I'd probably give it a chance if it was on tv and I had nothing better to do, could just leave it on and see how it goes. But I don't hold out any hope from what I've heard. I agree though, maybe that will give DC/Warner Bros an idea of what works and what doesn't. Hopefully Man of Steel is their jumping off point. Snyder has said though that he's more interested in doing sequels to Man of Steel before a Justice League movie is started.
