Also, black widow is supposed to be genetically enhanced, they didn't mention that in the movie did they? In the movie she's a regular assassin killing alien warrior... :cuckoo:

BINGO!!! they never mentioned it at all......yet.....

Maybe and hoping in Winter Soldier they do....and if they dont, thats 3 movies that nothing is talked about her abilities.

DiFabio.

Well, you can't say you have "expanded" the Superman character outside the comics, because the comics are where all the expansion is at, otherwise you have a limited vision of what Superman is.

And yes,MoS Zod lines are waaay superior and more powerful in my opinion, no question, specially the I WILL FIND HIM line and then his mouth flickering with anger, damn.

And about the nostalgia card, that's why I never used it before, I don't throw away those statements willy nilly, I try not to be blinded by nostalgia, nor modernism, I don't like MoS because of it's CGI or FX, that's just sugar on top an already great movie.

The 1st hour and a half of story setting and character development before all this ****storm already makes it the best Supes movie for me.

I hate blockbusters that their main substance is epicness or cgi.

How about "Superman took on another life, past the comics"? Is that fair? That's what I meant by expanded. The character outgrew the source.

And like I stated, I do like the human elements of this movie. I like the scenes with Costner (except the Tornado crap), I liked the end with the cape and "he did see me", I like the scenes with the adolescent stages of Clark dealing with his powers, the bullies, etc., I thought that was really well done. I liked Clark starting out as a blue collar worker trying to find meaning in his life. I loved the cinematography of the flashback childhood shots in Kansas (much better than those terrible "action" shots where it zooms in three times to whatever the focal point is). I even agree with most sentiments about Faora and Zod, I hate there reasons for "why" and the plot, but I think they were portrayed brilliantly. Shannon was great, Antje Traue was hot and deadly. I think Cavill and Crowe did a good job portraying a modern Supes and Jor-El too, even if I'm not impressed with what the script has them do.

But that doesn't make the whole movie. My problem with it are the elements like Lois Lane, Krypton and the villains and the plot overall. As soon as Superman gets his suit and cape, it feels like the movie falls apart (besides the film's prologue on Krypton though). The codex? The genetic Krypton crap? It's all crazy stuff. How can I enjoy a movie that has a plot I don't care about and dislike? The plot is a pretty big aspect, is it not? This story, to me, is just nuts. It doesn't resonate with me and I can't get into it. It's all flash and dazzle, with a few nice moments when they're taken out of context of the big picture.

Yeah, I finally got my super powered slug fest of super beings duking it out but it feels like it was at the expense of everything else.

Filling in gaps with yo noggin. But that isn't a gap I needed to fill. :lol

thats my point. there are little gaps you fill in without even thinking about it and dont need to. they are in every movie.

but we were talking about MoS and no ones mentioned what gaps they need to fill in that are causing them issues. Buildings falling and being destroyed? Avengers had that too. There was tons of destruction in the city and people had to have died. No one mentions it....They told people to evacuate, but they did in MoS as well. Not everyone would have lived in Avengers who were stuck in the city. There would be casualties. But people have the issue with MoS, not in Avengers...

Avengers mentioned it. And even dedicated a part of the ending to showing the aftermath. Cap even saved a **** load of people, and told the cops to evacuate the city as best as he could.

Yes its called hypocritical line of thought that suits their opinions. You will get some response that doesn't make much sense but is in line with their preexisting beliefs. Its called backwards me thinking, taking facts and changing them or elaborating on them to suit their opinion.

Another problem is people hold superman to higher standards. Its OK that Thor leveled a whole city in the movie with his fight with the destroyer but if superman does it let's deduct points from the score. Thor attacks a the frost giants for the wrong reasons but nobody card what the meant for his character. Batman can do whatever he wants because he saw his parents die so he can beat anyone to a pulp. Ironman makes fun of kids and is only shown to save 1 person (ironically a kid) other then pepper in 3 full movies. Unless u count the remote controlled plane rescue then ya 1 save in 3 movies yet superman saves 5 people not to mention the world but he did it wrong lol.

Avengers has that whole scene at the end with the screens showing the aftermath on television.

Candle lighting's for all the victims, prayer, boards full of names of missing people and victims, people shaving their face like Stark, New York's reactions, people getting Cap tattoos, people being inspired (without the utter of "standing for hope" like all of DC's characters), etc.

There were so many rescue scenes of the heroes saving civilians in the destruction (Cap especially, which is appropriate) that they cut tons more that found there way as deleted scenes.

Yeah if you don't like that there's no hope for the rest of the movie :lol

That's the thing, the only things I disliked were the tornado, the lois&supes forced romance and lara's performance, that's it, everything else falls into place smoothly for me, including the codex and the genetically bred thing.

The big cgi fights are a plus to me, a big one indeed but a plus, it didn't mess with the story quality at all.

See that's an opinion I can respect, but when someone goes all out and says "whoever doesn't like it is crazy", that just creams my corn :lol

Which is what I expected from Superman, but all I got was him destroying a spy drone. The 78 Superman had reaction, albeit a corny one from the warden at the end. "This planet is safe again Superman, thanks to you." This sets up the view of him from the people he's trying to protect.

That warden should be President.

I can get past the DNA stuff with MOS and enjoy it as much as I enjoy S1/S2.

MOS definately better than TDKR that's for certain.

IM3 is the one i'm baffled for not liking.

With TDKR I knew immediately I was going to have a hard time with it because of the 8 year gap.

So a 1 minute scene with candles added in would have changed your whole opinion of the movie. Honestly care less about all the damage in the avengers or man of steel. They way I look at it, without them fighting the good fight the damage would have been a hellof a lot worse.
