Re: The Man of Steel

If Ursa is the baddie, I've lost all interest for this. Same goes for Zod.

I agree, with all the villians Superman has, to once agian go back to Zod, or even do a movie that builds up to Zod would be a let down. I don't want to see 2 hours of Superman throwing down with a girl (no offense ladies) we saw it in hancock, and it wasn't that interesting.

Re: The Man of Steel

Considering how the comics have handled Superman's villains including adding Daximites and even more kryptonians who by whatever angle are back in his world, that they'd go with Zod or anything related to Zod again is puzzling.

Re: The Man of Steel

Znyder already said there is no Zod.
The women they are auditioning could be Lois or Lana for all we know?

They've said that the ones being discussed aren't for Lois, but she's in the film.

I like Zod as a villain - as long as it's more like Smallville handled it rather than Superman II.
I thought Zod and Faora being Doomsday's parents (like Chris in the comics) was brilliant.

But for me - I'd like Brainiac with a side of Luthor - to go.

Re: The Man of Steel

I'm going to take this with a barrel of salt but it made the news outlets...

If you thought the rumors of Robin appearing in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises were unlikely, boy, do we have a doozy for you.

TMZ reports today that sources close to Lindsay Lohan — currently being investigated in the theft of a $2,500 necklace after her latest stint in rehab — say that people associated with the “actress” have had multiple phone conversations with the people behind Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot. According to these sources, Lohan is up for a “major role,” but not that of love interest Lois Lane. Those same sources told TMZ that, Lohan is “dying to show people again how talented she is.” Of course, her latest run-in with authorities could ruin her shot at the film. Or, well, any film.

If not Lois Lane, then who? Daily Planet columnist Cat Grant? The Girl of Steel, Supergirl? Yet another interpretation of the Miss Teschmacher character? If the rumors of Ursa’s involvement are true, Lohan could make an ironic cameo as a resident of the Phantom Zone.

In reality, this rumor is highly, highly unlikely. It’s noteworthy that something similar happened recently, when Lohan’s alleged Linda Lovelace bio-pic also coincided with her legal issues. Weird how she always manages to be up for a role only when she’s in trouble with the law.

To be fair, though, it could very well be true that Lohan’s people have had conversations with the producers of Superman. Technically, they could be having many conversations with those people’s voice mail. Who’s to say that’s not the case?

Re: The Man of Steel

Rest easy, She's out. Being charged with Grand Larceny will do that to ya.

Re: The Man of Steel

She's not a bad actress - Mean Girls is still a good movie. But I can't see her as anyone in a Superman movie - maybe a skanky gender confused Gemmy Olson?

Re: The Man of Steel

Mean Girls isn't exactly a tour de force in terms of material here. I know its a Superman movie but Lindsay Lohan's inclusion reminds me how nutty it was to get Katie Holmes in a Batman movie and we all saw how that turned out...

Re: The Man of Steel

Saw Diane Kreger at Barneys in Manhattan. Mmmmm she is a HOTTIE.

Turned out pretty good - would have loved to have seen her continue the role instead of Mags. Katie's a decent actress, but has gotten nutty by association.

Not sure what your point is? The movie turned out great but Katie was the weakest link by far

Re: The Man of Steel

That is my point. She was put in and was easily the weakest point almost to the point of dragging you out with her scenes. The only scene worth seeing was the one where she was being carried out by Bats and that's just because of nipples. Lindsay Lohan would drag down the entire production, probably delay production and be the weakest thing on screen. Moot point since she'll be charged but still.

Re: The Man of Steel

SFX magazine talked more to Zack Snyder about directing the new Superman movie that will star Henry Cavill.

He said: "My feeling about Superman is that I've been a fan of the character for a long time. But the question for me was always, 'What can you do with Superman in a modern world?' And I think the amazing thing that Chris [Nolan] and David [Goyer] have created, that I'm working on now, and the reason why I was like, 'Yeah, I'll do that,' was that they found that in him. They found the why in him. That's the exciting part for me."

He wasn't able to say much more, but did add the following:

"I can't really talk about that without being kind of specific... But I can say I think Superman needs to be physical."

Superman is scheduled to hit theaters in December of 2012.

Re: The Man of Steel

That's what we need to see on the big screen, a physical Superman...Cmon Zach, bring it...

Re: The Man of Steel

:lol

Synder knows just like WB knows that the last Superman movie was panned hard because of the non-physical threat. I guarantee you that this one will have Supes fighting and will have the traditional Synder slow motion shots in between.
