That's how it's always been lately between these two. They meet don't particularly like each other, they two have words, figure out each secret identities, they realize they need each other and team up. I don't see the superman sequel being different except for the inclusion of Wonder Woman.

Which might wind up just being a cameo at the end. :lol

The only reason Superman could never beat Batman is because Batman is a very popular character. The end.

He's not only defeated him before in several canonical stories, but villains have stolen Batman's contingency plan and used it against Superman. The only reason Superman survived is because of Batman. So there are plenty of canonical stories which disprove your little statement. :wink1:

:horror Really? In Canon? Which ones?

Still, all of his plans rely on Batman knowing Supes like the palm of his hand, this is not the case.

The army, government and Lois Land knew who Supes was by the end of MoS. Shouldn't be hard for Batman to put two and two together. :lol

He'll probably know in the opening of the film.

The army and the government didn't know, just Lois.

Then the army and the government are stupid when they can clearly see that Smallville is attacked by these super beings, the Kent home (and barn) are one of the first places the invaders attack, and Superman says to the General/Captain whatever, "I'm as American as it gets, I was born and raised in Kansas".

Yeah, not hard to guess. Let's not forget about the Ihop manager from Smallville that knows Kent = Superman.

They don't even need that drone or satellite.

:exactly: Plus I'd imagine Hopeman's face is all over every newspaper, newscast, webcast on the planet.

Damn, you're right, Batman does have plenty material to work with.

Still, no kryptonite (yet).

And what I mean by "Know him" was that he actually knows him, not only his identity, but he is sure he won't kill him, and that's the pivotal point of this tactics, but in this case, Batman can't count on that after what he killed Zod.

There are possibilities, minuscule, but there are.

This was one of the many problems I had with the movie. His mom pretty much becomes a permanent target for anyone smart enough to figure it out.

Poison Ivy had them both taken over but Batman fought it off

Batman didn't fight it off, Supes was poisoned by Ivy, and he came after Bats, he ran out of tools (he couldn't even punch him one more time with the K ring without breaking his hand) and Supes was still coming, so Bats sent catwoman to drop Lois off a building so Supes had to choose between saving Lois or Keep fighting Batman (who had no more tools against Supes), so he saved Lois, the the effects of the poison on Supes wore off, and they came back to being bros lol, so he didn't fight him off, we just distracted him, cause Supes wasn't stopping coming after him and he wasn't gonna.

The military/government yes should be smart enough to figure it out. But as far as IHOP manager Pete, I have a feeling he would never reveal Clark's secret.

If you recall Pete is kind of a bully toward Clark on the bus before it goes in the river. After he saves the kids on the bus and rescues Pete from drowning he has a new respect for Clark. Pete's mom goes on and on about it being a miracle and divine Provence or something. Even though we don't see the rest of the conversation after the Kent's are completely denying what the kids saw we do see that Pete helps Clark up by extending a hand after those kids with the letterman jackets pull him out of his dad's truck and push him to the ground.

My theory is that everyone who saw what Clark can do and out of gratitude for saving them they gladly keep his secret. Even Pete looked a little reluctant to spill the beans when Lois showed up. I kind of like that Smallville has this respect for Clark and the Kent's because he has saved so many of them that they would keep his secret. Seems like a fairly tight community and they might be willing to protect their own. Not saying someone who was jealous or wronged might spill but that seemed irrelevant in this one.

As far as TV and newspapers having his picture, I didn't see any tv cameras or anyone taking pictures while everything was going on. I'm not even sure Perry, Lumbard, or Jenny saw his face close up. I also don't think he'd go around doing photo shoots. I think he'd be like the guy who shows up to save the day but doesn't stop to take credit or get his picture in the paper.

The fact that they saw his face or even took pictures means nothing really, Clark would only be a guy who looks like Supes.

But he's got a point, I wonder if they will try to negate how easy it is to discover his identity and keep it secret, or will they roll with it.

I mean, now that I think about it, all they saw was Supes comforting a lady who's house was just destroyed.

Just rewatched this to see if there was anything I was missing. Still think it's mediocre, but I was reminded of a few cool things like the screaming Fraggle at the beginning on Krypton, and Goldberg's WCW intro just before Superman flies. :p One of the things I still don't get is if Jor-El infused Kal with all the Kryptonian DNA of the Kotex :)lol), why couldn't they have just pulled it out of the sample they took of his blood?
