... and to further that, the story behind Man-Thing is interesting, with whom some will empathize with.

I've always 'liked' the character but what made me buy it is the insanely detailed sculpt and the fact that it is indeed 'something different' in the collection

Chris, IMO people are making this a hot sculpt because of a few things, some of which are unusual. I think what is really making this a big hype (and hopefully not over-hyped) is that 1) it is an unusual character, 2) a low ES, 3) a piece that will strike conversation instantly on display because it not well-known, 4) just such an unusual sculpt from all the rest out there.

All these put together are really making people notice a character that just normally does not get this attention.

It is kind of neat.[/QUOTE]

I totally agree with every point that's the reason why I pulled the trigger on this and now it has made me take more interest in the character also. The deciding factor mostly was when I saw your pics and it just looks totally insane. It will certainly be a talking point.

I really think that this may be that 'under the radar' piece that people have been talking about. Future demand could be very high and most flippers won't touch it because of the price.

this piece just rocks.told everyone from the start.

This guy looks amazing, sculpt is phenomenal and the light up eyes are the cherry on top! I hope to one day add him to my collection. Congrats to those of you who already have him! :rock

found one for $450... go for it??

I really don't see this one decreasing in value...

unless you're planning on keeping it for awhile i wouldn't. but eh wth do i know, everyone seems to think it's going to skyrocket, but i can't see it.

Me neither. Too obscure of a character. I just want one 'cause he reminds of those horror comic books I used to read back then. Plus it's an awesome sculpt and it differs from the usual suspects!:rock

This one is so tempting mostly because of the sculpt and all-around presence. Too big of a risk for anyone thinking about flipping, but at the same time, now is the time to grab one if you want it in your collection, IMO. It is more of an obscure character, plus the fiance' would be quite a bit less than thrilled :(

I now have an overwhelming need to buy this.

Boba, go for it. I cannot tell you what attention this piece is drawing. And it pretty much fits in with a theme of 1/4 scale, and within a PF statues (even though it is not, but I would argue it could be because of the vegtable strands on this).

You got it!

You will like it Chris. One thing, when you look at in the case it will be like hmm blah. Then you put it on the base and the it is wow. Then you turn on the lights and it is double wow.

You nailed it buddy. Now, did you get some help convincing from Kinky Queen? That's the word out there, lol.

I agree jbinny. What makes this sound also is the small ES.

Once all 300 get out there, and more people begin posting their thoughts, I think it will be a sought after piece. Look at this thread so far, and no one has it as far as I know yet.
