Fantastic work and your Magnus rocks!!!
Welcome aboard! You're among a very nice bunch of Who fans in here.
Can't wait to see more work.

Wow, amazing stuff! :monkey2 :banana:banana :monkey2

So wait, you can sew, sculpt, paint, AND build things??? Damn! I want a refund on my life. I got short changed! (laugh) Awesome stuff! Your level of detail and quality is insane. It's all VERY nice! Great job!
-Rick :)

Your Magnus Greel and Peking Homunculus figures make me want to watch THE TALONS OF WENG CHIANG again! If 1/6 scale figures can do that, then truly they are GREAT!!!

WOW! Im overwhelmed! I was really unsure about posting in this community as my stuff is very specialised..... but the welcome ive recieved is beyond expectation .... and not just from hardcore WHOVIANS ; ) thank you all very much im glad to be here ; )

Welcome Marfa! I saw your Leela on another board you post at and she truly is a wonder!!!!! I really like your other ones as well. Care to share a recipe or two?

once ive found my feet ill let u in on a few of my secrets : )

1:6 Magnus Greel & Mr Sin =

Any plans for a 4th Doctor in Sherlock Holmes attire to go with them ?

Id Luv a Holmesian Tom as Talons is my favourite story.... im slowly pulling together fabrics, swatches, trinkets, ephemera to create the ultimate Tom Baker 4th Doctor figure.... most important i want him to have a mop of real hair not sculpted.... and the scarf needs to dyed fabric as apposed to knitted..... will keep u posted!

Oh these are all superb! The standard of your work is just wonderful. I particularly adore your Mr Sin and Greel. The costumes are just so well done.

And your Lela is also marvelous. The leather work must have been a killer to do.

Dare I ask whats next on your list?

hey : ) im half way thru sculpting a Deadly Assassin Master! I still need to source fabrics for his cloak but i have also completed a Grandfather clock Tardis for him to make a quick getaway in ;)

Damn! Can't remember some of there name (except Leela of course) but your work is amazing.

Top quality, looks like work the amazing South Koreans would produce. How's finding the 1/6 supplies in Lon Don?

thanks ive never sculpted before until this year The Kraal was my first followed by Mr Sin...

with regards to finding 1/6th stuff in London its not great... i get most of my figures from ebay or thrift shops... luckily i can make all my own clothes

The figures look ace but that TARDIS is sick! The detail and overall look is very professional. Did you actually rig a light tube around the windows like in the show?

Yep i used leds around the windows and sign also i made the interior into a diorama and fitted the character options Tardis Playset console inside the effect is out of this world it really does look bigger on the inside ; )

Wow, amazing stuff!

I think me and u have a lot to chat about x

It works well because its more of a set piece than just the figures the lab table really makes it for me ; )
thnks again xxxx

Seeing that set photo bangs home even more how accurate your 12" versions are. I was lucky enough to be on set for one of the recording days for Talons, so it warms my heart to see that episode is not forgotten. :D

I'm really looking forward to seeing both your 4th Doctor and the Master now. :D

Ditto that. I remember using an emperor figure from Return of the Jedi and a Perseus figure from Clash of the Titans as my DA Master and Tom Baker toys as a child. :lol

I used to help run Tom Bakers fan club and had to go and give him copies of the club newsletter now and again. One time I met up with him he was dressed in all his 'Sherlock' finery and striding down the BBC corridor at full pelt, with various costume assistants trying to catch various items clothing as he flung it off himself as he strode towards his dressing room.

I also ended up seeing them recoding another part of the story (when the giant comedy rat was in the tunnels trying to bite Lela) because we had a friend who worked at the Beeb at that time, and you used to be able to bring a few friends in to watch them recording in one of the observation gallery's. I saw quite a few Who's that way, until I (would you believe) won a "design a Monster for Dr Who" competition and ended up visiting the set of 'The Face of Evil' and having dinner with the cast. God Tom was a scary bastard! :horror Still is really.

Christ that was a loooong time ago.

All a bit ironic really considering I ended up working on the show during the Sylvester era. :lol

Happy days. *sigh* Thats why I love what you've done here. It's rare to see fans recreating 'old Who' characters, let alone done with such care and accuracy.

Oh and in answer to your question, yes, I am bloody old.

These are all such gorgeous customs, Marfa! I'm very impressed (and very jealous) of your triple-threat talents: sculpting, sewing, AND diorama-building. Magnus Greel's lab table looks incredible, as does his outfit and mask and mannequin. I love the Kraal sculpt and outfit. It helps that most of my favorite eps are from the Hinchcliffe/Baker eps. Cool feathers on the ...Morrigan, was it? From Stones of Blood? My fingers ached in sympathy for your work on your Leela figure. (The one I made a while back involved a ton of handsewing.) I think my favorite so far is the Cyberman. Or else the 1:1 custom John Barrowman. ;)

BEAUTIFUL work Marfa truly a credit to the 1/6th who world. I can't get over how many amazing figures are coming out of the fan world.

I checked out your thread on another forum, and the pic of the Kraal holding the Sarah android head is priceless. Will you be posting the rest of your pics of these customs?

And like pixeltwin, I'm interested in hearing how you created a lot of these cool customs. (Like that android head's metal facework, or Greel's time cabinet, or your cool Cyberman, or whether you made or found Greel's lab equipment, etc.)

Wasnt sure how people feel about multiple pic posts, WIP ect here but i guess its ok if there requested ; )

Android sarah was a failed project i actually made a full "android sarah" in pink sailor suit from a brunette Barbie (ill dig out a pic if ive got one) which i sliced the face of and replaced with different coloured beads and odds and ends silver wire tubing ect.... i also find it handy to print out irises and glue them on beads for eyes...

unfortunately the end result looked too "doll like" wish i hadnt used a barbie as it didnt fit in with my other creations so she was rejected, same thing happened with my Romana 1 she was to dolly so i binned her ; (

Greels lab bench was a mix, however the bulk of the lab equipment came from moebius model kit of the invisible man
https://moebiusmodels.com/invisibleMan.php
(ive got several of there kits as there gorgeous!) then i filled them with coloured dyes... the table was cut from foamcore and painted matt blk

here is a better shot of The 10th planet cybermans face, again not a sculpt just a dragon doll with a lycra face mask silver jump suit and vinyl tubing painted silver the only sculpt was for ribbed head section the chest unit was made from household electrical connector blocks i use these a lot as there very detail and look great wen painted

The time cabinet was constructed like my Tardis foamcore and pladsicard however im a wizz in Photoshop so and use a form of 3d maping instead of painting its highly detailed works for all textures

im using the same process for my latest project Deadly Assassin Masters Tardis

That's all amazing! I think that Sarah android head looks just fine! Thanks for sharing the additional pictures and recipes! GREAT Romana costume!

So those prop textures were photoshopped? Awesome! I've expirimented with doing photoshoped deco for a space station dio I've been doing but the problem I found with it doesn't photograph well. It catches the flash all the time and then looks phoney. Have you had those problems or do you recommend any tricks?
