Justin’s comparison between the Mars version and the Hot Toys version is pretty eye opening. Granted I realize that the Hot Toys figure is older but it’s a night and day difference and Mars easily takes the cake.

I dismissed this as a figure I don’t need but kind of wish I had got it. Maybe Mars will do a Bruce in jeans/turtleneck or the mime scene look where he has the trench coat and sunglasses.

Also as a side note I’m even more excited about the Gorshin Alfred now. If this turned out as nice as it did I’m hopeful Alfred will be as good or better. Would also be great to get an Alan Napier Alfred to go with the 66 figures..

Do you mean Gorshin Riddler and Gough Alfred?

Surprisingly, I'm even excited about the Carrey Riddler. He was silly and hardly the best version of this famous foe, but he's hard to get out of your mind. And I love his coloring and the mild Punk references.

Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones' absolutely schlocky and cheesy performances were one of my favourite parts of Batman Forever.

The movie may not have been very good but it felt like those guys knew exactly what kind of movie they were making - rumor is Carrey and Jones didn't get along so that must've added to their performances I reckon.

Happy Halloweeeeeeeeen!!!!

Schumacher Riddler and Two-Face will be colorful attention-grabbers on the shelf much as they were in the movie.
Truly a diamond in the rough.

As one of the ppl that TW has tried to swindle, I would say it's not just "bad press."

That's your word ("just"), not mine. And those are your air quotes, not mine.

Toys Wonder tried to swindle people. So they got bad press. When people act ******, they get called out - that's what bad press is. I don't know why that should be controversial, nor why it should demand the sort of reply that you wrote.

Should Lee in MI just give up on the money he already gave them?

There's a chance that Toy Wonder will come through for him - they're still operating, they haven't ghosted, clearly they're still trying to run a business, even if their business model is trash. The fact that Toys Wonder swindled some people doesn't mean that Lee in MI should simply accept that his money is gone and that's it. He should absolutely be trying to follow through and get what he paid for.

In all seriousness-I'm not saying anyone should give up, that wasn't my point. I put my reply in spoiler tags in order to not gunk up the thread. Feel free to PM if you prefer to continue.

I was simply informing you and anyone else who read my post that there is a possibility that those who ordered from TW would not get their item due to the fact that Mars Toys has outright said that they did not supply Toys Wonderland with their products. So, sure, there's a chance if you're the lucky order TW chooses to fulfill with whatever stock they manage to obtain. The subsequent part of my reply was to also restate how TW operates for anyone else who may not be in the know, or who may be of the mind of "well I've always got my stuff so I don't have a problem with them" simply b/c it hasn't happened to them yet. Is it wrong to try to warn folks about TW so that maybe they don't end up in a similar situation that so many others have? We're a community after all and should be ideally trying to help each other out.

Based on your reply to Lee in MI, it sounded as though you're either not up to date on all the stuff that has happened given that you specifically asked "unless things have gotten worse?" (which they have) or are downplaying how bad the situation actually is with TW since you've had some successful orders with them. That's the vibe I got and the reason for my tone, but if that wasn't the case, then I do apologize.

I quoted the words "bad press" b/c that's the term you used to describe the situation so I'm not sure what the problem is there. Typically, that phrase alludes to words used to make a situation look worse than it actually is and, as I said above, downplaying the mess that TW is actually in and what they've done to quite a lot of their customers; therefore, I was clarifying that it's more than internet mudslinging. It's pretty serious when you think about how much money is involved if you actually factor everyone in. Again, I'd rather inform and warn folks about TW than simply say nothing whether that's someone who has some built-in confidence due to successful orders or someone new who saw a review with them mentioned and figured "yea that guy sounded trustworthy and he recommended them."

You say they haven't ghosted when there have been numerous accounts of them ghosting customers, swindling them, taking their money and not delivering, repeatedly asking for shipping payment even when payment was submitted .etc., and it's more than some ppl. It was enough ppl that Justin's viewership (and from what's been rumored, his YouTube revenue) took enough of a dive that he had to sever his partnership with them. Heck TW apparently ghosted their local HK police when they attempted to contact TW :lol Even if they are still sending out emails, I'm sorry, but that wouldn't give me much hope, if at all. Anyone can send an email as long as they have access to an internet connection and device to do it from.

Most likely not not. The reasoning for passing on this Bruce Wayne is the same reason I passed on '89 Alfred as well. Very nice figure but not one I need in my collection.

Just in case it's not already clear, just b/c I'm passing on the figure(s), that's not saying anything against them or criticizing anyone who did order them. I just don't need it in my collection. That doesn't take anything away from how well the figure turned out. I'm just done with needing to buy every single figure that I have a remote attachment to just b/c it came out really well and/or b/c it's the only one available. I can still appreciate it with out owning it.

Bruce was a day 1 PO mostly because my collection is now 90% Batman 89 but I’m in the same boat concerning Alfred, I don’t feel I need him. It’s a great addition indeed but just do not want to fall in the « collect them all » trap…

If you ended up buying an '89 Armory and/or Bat-computer setup I feel you would likely regret not having a Gough Alfred.....unless HT produces them with an official Alfred. But maybe you wouldn't buy those.

Even if HT just put up the Bat computer for the 35th anniversary I would be happy just to see it in people's collections. Their version 2 89 Batman will most likely be their only effort this year.

Happy to have Mars keep do the rest of the Burton figures. Catwoman, Mayor Penguin, Bob the Goon, Billy Dee Dent....

Yeah not wrong, but the more I think to this bat-computer, the more I ask to myself if I really need it. I don’t know, out of the batcave context it would appear weird on a shelf and the proto appeared very plasticity. If you add the space required to display it properly…It is almost as long as the HT Batmobile.

And if you look at its structure, don’t know if HT would risk to ship something so fragile with all the screens.
The armory would be something I would consider. It’s so iconic and immediately recognizable IMO.

Why do you do this to yourself Rondesmo? I’ve seen you go back and forth on the JazzInc ‘89 Batmobile and other items. Why wouldn’t you get Alfred?

After seeing how well Bruce Wayne and Mob Joker have turned out, it only makes sense to keep supporting this license by buying them. Alfred is absolutely essential, especially if the Batcomputer and Armory show up in one form or another.

Don’t tempt me! 😅
More seriously my collection is composed of various item from 1/6 figures to 1:1 props, or vintage memorabilia etc… it’s more a mini Batman 89 museum rather than a complete 1/6 figures line.
If I get Alfred, I would need a Bob, Knox, Napier, Gordon, Vicky etc… if they ever see the light of day… It’s endless.
With only Bruce - Batman VS Joker, I block the door of the rabbit’s hole and I stay away from completism.
I would rather save and buy a 1/12 Batwing.

I would for sure get Vicky. Could probably pass on Knox. Even the Pat Hingle Gordon would likely be a pass as I never found him that memorable even though he’s in the first four Batman movies. He’s kind of a bumbling *****.

I probably wouldn't say no to any Nicholson including the pre-Joker Jack Napier. I'd get Vicky Vale but I have doubts they could do her justice. That hair plus female likenesses in general are harder to get right.

That's it really as far as characters from the film that I might specifically want. Anything outside of those would be an impulse buy if Mars decided to make them and if they came out as well as Bruce and Mob Joker have. Bob, Knox, Hingle Gordon, Billy Dee Dent etc.

Have no need for Vale, Knox, Gordon or Dent. I have the same mentality with the Nolan stuff. Lucius Fox? John Blake? Those civilian characters are display killers. Alfred is an exception because he’s like the Batmobile, Batwing and Batcave, an accessory to Batman. It’s the reason I never sold off my Michael Caine Alfred, it makes sense for him to be off to the side next to the armory. This particular Alfred is very important. He’s always at Batman’s side. He helps with the detective work with Joker and helps bring down Penguin. He’s an active participant. He plays an even bigger part in the Schumacher movies.

I’d get any and all versions of Nicholson. It hasn’t been milked enough in my opinion. A Battle Damaged Batman and Batcave Bruce are also no brainers. Someone really needs to produce that computer and armory vault since Hot Toys has let it go.
