The fight between Luke Cage and Iron Fist was the only thing in the series that grabbed my attention. Everything else was boring or meh IMO, apart from Elektra who was okay. I really wish it would've been longer so they could've fleshed out the relationship between the Defenders more.

I'm really hoping the Punisher series is better. Bernthal is great in the role.

Yeah abilities on both sides were a mess.

The attempted coup on Ripley was also poorly handled.

You got me for a minute, I was like I don't remember a character named ripley lol you meant the weaver. Her fighting Electra was laughable. She was weak and dying but somehow could muster the strength to Kung fu her ass. Other then that I thought she did a good job playing an evil old *****

I liked the red background when DD first showed up in costume to save JJ.

Same, the colors in the series are handled nicely. It's cool how each characters' scenes had a specific color palate (DD - red, JJ - blue, LC - yellow, IF - green). My favorite shot in the series is probably when Matt stands in the doorway of the interrogation room Jessica is being held in, with red bleeding in from the open doorway behind him.

Everytime Jessica was handcuffed to the interrogation table in the police station, I kept thinking, "why isn't she just breaking them?..." :lol

I guess she was trying to be law-abiding, but why everytime did they have her struggle against them for a moment.

The story is so-so, the dialogue is bad and the action is ok. The most funny part to me is Iron Fist. For a martial arts master he sure struggles a lot in a fight.

I am a big fan of DD Season 1 and 2 - not too exited about JJ, LC or IF. Liked parts of each show but they were not great at all.
For me Defenders was probably the one i liked least. Probably behause I had higher expectations. No character touched me one second. All very superficial like most CW series.

Whoever is the show runners, writers, fight choreographers should be fired and start over for season 2.

I think Netflix rushed it. The plot and characters could have been developed more.

Everyone complained so much about all the individual shows having 13 episodes that they dropped it to 8 episodes on the grand finale that actually would've benefited from having 13 lol

Hey lets give individual characters 13 episodes but when we group them all up lets not give them the proper story breathing room that a big finale should have.

What's next IW will only be an hour and 20 minutes long lol.

I just finished watching this earlier tonight and I agree with the consensus that it was fairly disappointing. Daredevil was of course the best part, followed by Jessica Jones. But actually the small dramatic interactions between the characters or air is where I felt the series really worked. Whenever they tried to have the four main Heroes fighting together like they were the Avengers or something it came off as really cheesy. And you can tell that the actors were just going through the motions. The most noticeable one was Jessica Jones doing her stick trying to look bored but just came off as unrealistic and weird. I'm actually glad they're going to go back to the individual series now. I really enjoyed the seasons of Daredevil and Jessica Jones and hope they will continue with that moving forward. Some foreshadowing of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage getting back together at the end there. Got to feel bad for the poor Night Nurse but Luke Cage is a pimp. He's already gotten it on with three of the major female characters in this universe. I guess Colleen and Karen Page are next.

I'd be surprised if Luke and Jessica actually ended up together in this universe. He seems better suited to Claire at this point and Jessica needs to develop more on her own.

Luke and Jessica are great. Perfect couple.
Seein' them together in "Da Defendurz" was one of very few good things I liked about this series.

Here's hope Claire dies at some point in LC S2, or at least moves somewhere out of sight.
They really didn't have a clue what to do with her character after LC S1. They have to let her go already.

Someone should count how many times they say "The Hand" in just 8 episodes :rotfl

My god IF is so lame. pls stop!

After this "Marvel Netflix Phase 1", i only care for Daredevil, Punisher, Fisk and Kilgrave.

Me and my wife had a running joke bit that whenever someone said the name Danny we would audibly groan. They say his name so much. 80% of it comes from IF :lol

Luke and Jessica are married and have a kid in the comics...so the likelihood of them ending back up together is high.

I thought it was a great series, not outstanding and clearly not outshining the "best" (like Daredevil Season 1), but it was a great build-up and a solid story. The action, while great, wasn't as well-filmed as it was in some of the other series (once again, DD Season 1 had some of the best action scenes filmed). The minor interactions between the characters and their little quirks was fantastic. I laughed when Jessica stole the beer from the guy on the subway and cracked it open...totally fits the character, and the same with Luke Cage objecting at first to blowing up the building...it fits him as he truly the most "heroic" of the characters (and hasn't "dealt" with the Hand much like Jones as he was content sticking to Harlem). Personally, I love this cast and think they've all done very well. The only guy I haven't really warmed up to is Finn Jones as Iron Fist...he still plays this "innocent, know-nothing boy" so I hope if we see an Iron Fist Season 2, we see him get a little more cocky and confident like his comic counterpart. I was hoping to see him do two iron fists as well (as in the comics, Rand plunged "both" his fists into the dragon's heart to get the power).

I liked tying the MCU Hand's origin to K'un-L'un, it helped derive Iron Fist's motivation for going after them aside from Daredevil's. Luke Cage's and Jessica Jones' reasoning was a little more skeptical, but I felt they were just more "dragged into the fold"...given Cage's attitude, I can see his reasoning for leaping in...while they did play Jones' character well with walking away from the group at first. The only thing that was weak to me was pretty much lumping in the Hand leadership for this series (aside from Madame Gao). Suddenly you have Sigourney Weaver and the Bakuto scrub from Iron Fist and these other two random dudes...

A great start to "Netflix Marvel Phase 1"

So what do we got with Phase 2? Honestly, I hope we largely see the return of Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Fantastic character from Daredevil. Someone already mentioned Bullseye, so yes, it'd be hard to have another Daredevil series without one of his most iconic villains. For the Next DEFENDERS they could go the "Shadowland" route, but I feel that's like another "Hand" storyline, I'd personally like to see Fisk being the next "big bad", this time fully embracing his Kingpin persona.

-The Punisher Season 1 *coming soon*
-Jessica Jones Season 2 (Apparently Kilgrave will be back, but only in Jessica's and Malcolm's minds) *coming soon*

-Daredevil Season 3 *apparently confirmed*
-Iron Fist Season 2 *apparently confirmed*
Luke Cage Season 2 *apparently confirmed*

I also can't see the Punisher being a large part of the Defenders Season 2 other than perhaps a cameo episode or two. The character's violent and extreme nature towards criminals almost ALWAYS makes it tough for any team-up's he's had (other than with like-minded heroes...like Wolverine). Aside from Daredevil, I could certainly see the Punisher butting heads BIG-TIME with Luke Cage. Jessica Jones might actually like him cause he's a big a-hole like her.

I really think they could have dropped Luke Cage and Iron Fist for second seasons, they're not as good as DD and JJ. Perhaps this will be the last for them and then from Defenders season 2 we will see them form Heroes for Hire and just work together from then on.
