I'd like an Antman. I'd also be up for Magneto, as would the rest of the World. I'd LOVE Moon Knight. I was starting to think about getting the Nightcrawler comiquette but might wait if there's talk of a PF?

Nightcrawler probably a definite possibility still due to releases of retro xmen pfs

Yeah if I were to select releases and EX pieces, Id line up a Yellow Jacket PF the exclusive would be minature sized Wasp and Ant-Man while the reg would be a stand a lone figure.

By preordering this Daredevil pf it says yes to mediocre sculpts, yes to non exclusive, yes to price increases with no clear justification or logic. Thats a world Id rather not indulge

This strategy works only for characters that are distinctively different ie-

No exclusive direct sales model same pose for someone like

World War Hulk / Gladiator Hulk

Phoenix \ Dark Phoenix

They could stop selling the initial release and mid run change it to the alternate.

Ie first appearance Daredevil.

Honestly what would make this different from a Flash PF aside from the base and costume. Daredevils superohero qualities have nothing to do with running a marathon

Alright I'll bite, One, it would depend on the Flash PF, considering you're comparing this sculpt to one that hasn't been released yet and the concept art that was teased wasn't remotely near this, and Two, What actually makes Daredevil a "super"hero has nothing to do with his Physical abilities anyway as his abilities are sensory based. So any pose, unless they somehow found a good way to sculpt his sonar sight, won't give you a valid perception of his abilities.

This isn't particularly about this PF, nor have I read the lasts several pages of posts so no offense to anybody...

But setting aside opinions of whether a sculpt is good or not, if SS went the way of no EX it'd decide who really loves the statues and/or characters vs who just wants exclusive things with smaller numbers. If you wouldn't buy a statue that you actually liked because there's no EX anymore (and we don't know if this is truly the way SS is going) then these probably aren't the right thing for you to collect anyway. It's just a throwaway hobby at that point, not a passion, and anything not a passion isn't worth being a hobby in the first place. You'd probably quit for some reason or another anyway. Since 2011 I've seen lot of active participants on this forum go... If you don't genuinely love the characters or the art aspect of it you too will be selling off your collection soon enough! Random rant over.

It's called a hobby not a lifestyle.

Truth!

It's called a hobby not a lifestyle.

I'm sorry, I'm a geek, it is a lifestyle

That is the direction that Sideshow is going admittedly. At first they didn't listen to fan feedback when it came to design, now its welcomed but they pride themselves on re-using designs. That's what was mentioned on the internet. As someone that has accumulated points and takes this hobby seriously I don't find it acceptable that they re-hash what appears to look like carbon copies of the same statue for characters that are inherently different. I think thats what takes the fun out of collecting.

Best thing about this statue is the base. Worst thing is the pose. Only way it could be any worse would be to add the Thor arm. SS did me and my wallet a favor, easy pass for me.

just give em a shield and you have this guy

The Daredevil is a much more natural running pose, one foot off the ground while the other is planted giving a feeling of motion. The upper body is more forward moving and less twisting than the cap. For these reasons The Daredevil in my opinion is in a state of natural motion where the WS Cap is in a stance that I honestly have never seen someone in while making a throwing motion flat footed.

So I personally wouldn't call them the same pose.

It doesn't have to be a lifestyle. I wouldn't go that far for most. But I think a lot of people just want rare things instead of characters they enjoy or pieces of art they just like with no bells and whistles... or in the case of statues, switch outs that only some will have.

Truth!

Me too.
